With the final Inheritance book coming out on November 8, I think this series deserves a topic of its own.
Let's talk Inheritance!

I've really liked and enjoyed the three books that have been published so far, I must admit that the story really catches you and, even if I've read it almost four times, everytime I take on one of the books, it's like the first time. The only bad thing is that we had to wait a lot for each book, but finally, the last book is almost out, even tho here in Italy it won't be out the 8th November but probably in 2012, maybe during Easter time from what I've heard.
My favourite characters are two, Murtagh and Brom. Brom, well, he's Brom xD the man of the mistery since we got to know something more about him on Eldest and Brisingr, with Eragon getting mad because Saphira had always known those things while he was always searching for an answer and got, most of the time, nothing. When Oromis and Glaedr told Eragon that he was the son of Brom I was with my jaw dropped, I wasn't really expecting it, okay, Brom had always acted like a father for Eragon but, it could have been anything xD Murtagh is the kind of character that I immediatly like, he was an outcast (with a nice scar on his back), nobody wanted to believe that he was on the good side when he arrived with Eragon to the varden. I thought they didn't acted very well, okay, he is the son of Morzan but he wouldn't have helped the Varder to fight Durza's army, which was also Galbatorix's army, what, he kills his own sidekicks and army? I hardly doubt about it. Now he's on the King's side. Yeah, true, but as he said in Eldest, Galbatorix discovered his real name and Thorn's name too, Eragon has seen with his eyes the consequences of saying the real name of a person, he has seen what happened with Sloan. Nobody really knows what Murtagh and Thorn have to suffer, I mean, Thorn, who's way younger than Saphira, is already bigger than her! And what about Murtagh? During the battle with Oromis and Glaedr, what happened to him? Galbatorix entered his mind and used him like a puppet, controlling his body and everything! Didn't Saphira and Eragon noticed saddness into Thorn eyes? Wasn't he even puzzled when they had to fight? When Eragon suggested a way to be free from the King, they both looked very interested and let him talk.
One thing that ruined this awesome saga was the movie, but I guess everyone know this. The only two things I liked about the movie were how they portrayed Brom and Murtagh, even tho they've made a wrong scar for Murtagh but, nevermind, it's just a small thing. They cut off too many thing and they ruined it. I remember at the cinema, once the movie was finished, all the people in there starte to whistle and to yell "Booo!" at the screen. That really shown which was their opinions.

LOVE this series! The first time I read the book I was like, Okay, I guess it's a little interesting, but whatever. I come back and read it a few months later, and then I find myself reading the whole series, then re-reading it about three or four times. The creativity behind the plot and the descriptive detail and insight into the characters was amazing. It's one of those books you can read a dozen times without getting tired of it. I'm definitely counting down the days until November. I can't wait for Inheritance to come out, and see what the ending of this intense saga holds.

I don't think words can really express how great I think the Inheritance Cycle is. I remember the very first time I read Eragon, I was captivated and didn't stop reading until I was about a quarter through the book. Heh...I love reading, but I can only read so much without getting a little bit of a headache..

My favourite character was Brom, from the very first chapter he was introduced. When I read his death scene I was close to tears, because I didn't want my favourite character to leave the series. However, I discovered that in Eldest and Brisingr you actually do read a bit about Brom and find out about his past. In Brisingr when it gets to the part where Eragon is looking at Saphira's memory of Brom, I was in tears. It was my favourite part of the book. Cannot wait until Inheritance comes out. I entered a competition to win a copy of Inheritance signed by Christopher Paolini...Fingers crossed I win one.

Okay, so Inheritance comes out tomorrow! You can be sure I'll be one of the first ones in my town to get it! Standing outside that store for 5 hours...yeyah!

I finished Inheritance yesterday. While I did like the other three books just a tiny, insubstantial amount more, I think that was only because I didn't want there to be change. Though I do have one question:

Did any of you guys see any mention of the seven words in the ancient language Brom told Eragon before he died? Because I don't remember ever finding out what he said...

I must say, I was a bit scared that Roran was going to die... Thank god that wall didn't really crush him.

I read Inheritance in about 8 hours over four days, and I honestly wasn't all that impressed. Hope this doesn't turn into a rant. Honestly, I went through a major portion of the book just wanting

Roran to die. I mean, he lives through a wall falling on him (not to mention beating an Urgal after being whipped to within an inch of his life), he kills 200 guys single-handedly, Barst killed Islanzadi with no trouble, yet Roran somehow kills Barst just as easily. One other thing that disappointed me was how Galby was killed off. I mean, I was hoping for some huge HarryPotter-style battle, and Galby just commits suicide? Come on! The last thing that annoys me is how CP ended the whole Eragon/Arya plotline. Why on earth would Arya decide to be Queen when she already stated that she didn't want to be ruler anyway? Plus she's a Rider, and rulers shouldn't be Riders, as it upsets the balance of power. I feel it was against Arya's character for her to stay behind. Plus, who didn't want Eragon and Arya to end up together? Oddly I was okay with Islanzadi and Carn being the only ones who died. Don't get me wrong--it was a great book. It's just those three points I had issues with. Overall, I liked the series, and I look forward to seing more of Paolini's work.

Inheritance probably was just disappointing due to the hype that everyone had for it; much like Star Wars Episode I. However, I for one found it rather enjoyable!

I was obsessed with Eragon when I was little. I had a crush on him....
But the books just went downhill. Inheritance was especially disappointing.

I hate to revive this topic if it's already fully dead, but I have to share how I felt with Inheritance. It was a great book, just as good as the others, until the end.

After Galbatorix killed himself (which I don't get why some people hate, I liked it for its poetic justice that he got to feel all the hurt he had caused, but oh well), Eragon went on about how to restore the land and how he had to leave. Here's where I get annoyed: he says the entire time that the prophecy said he had to leave forever. So wouldn't that be him making it self-fulfilling? It makes no sense and nearly had me slamming my Kindle on whatever hard surface I was near to try and make sense of it. What also annoyed me is how it just dragged on. After all the battles, all the action, all this and that said and done: NOW Eragon decides he's going to go through and tie up all the plot ends from the last three books. And it lasts forever. I kept hoping that the book would end every chapter after Eragon decided who would rule the land, but it just kept going. If I ever reread the series, I'll stop just before the loose ends get tied up, because for the love of all dragons those points could have been tied up at any other time and not be boring. Sorry for the long spoiler post, it does reveal stuff at the end of the book so don't look at it if you haven't finished it, but I just needed to get it off my chest.
