My hearing can be a little funny and not beong American I have issues with the accent, though Kit's is the closest in the series to mine in some ways (Kiwi's say Miss with the same z tone as he does) but usually I have too take it slow.

Anyway what do you guys think? It may be both as both actors said it in many way.

True, what is it in the French dub? I know Papa is French for dad/father, then it is in many unrelated language's around the world... to do with "pa" and "ma" being some of the first tones babys can vocalise.

I've always thought it was "Papa," but then I haven't seen it with subtitles so I'll have to concede that I'm not 100% sure.

Both Papa Bear and Poppa Bear are correct actually.

The french dub is awful. Kit never calls him that way in the show, he most often only refers to him as "Baloo". Sometimes "Mon gros Baloo" (My big Baloo).
Then again, saying "Papa Bear" in french is a little corny, so that may be why. (yet the french dub is very, very corny for many other reasons)

Not suprised, then "Papa" is used as a standard word in France, I'd use an English word like "Daddy Bear" or something.
It's like English dubs of Anime, it can be REALLY bad!

Yeah...french anime dubs were equally horrible, by that time (early 90's), despite them being insanely popular (especially Dragon Ball Z! HUGE popularity in France, yet one of the most horrible dubs ever done)

For English it varys, some like Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex are great but the first DBZ was avrage, along with cutting the violence and sex and then theres Sauurai Pizza Cats, a total joke but the joke was fun.

Guys, I know what you mean. In Mexico we have really good voice actors, and good dubbing directors. But The mexican dubbing for Talespin, it was only good, the direction was lame. One of the Disney series that was ruined completely. If you don't believe it, check the Sky pirates song in Mexican spanish.

Grounded, is the song that Karnage sings in Plunder and Lightning. Maybe now you remember it. Anyway, if you look in youtube the scene of the episode in Latin Spanish, I swear it your ears will burn. The actor and director in charge of dubbing the series chose voices that don't have the same color they have in it's original language.

Oh I knew what song it was and it'll have been in Latin Spainish, I check it out when I get some ear plugs!
