To be honest, he is bad, but he has motive. If he killed randomly for no reason what so ever, then he would be a monster in my opinion.

I've heard a hundred different reasons as to the source of the scar. What book says what about its origins?

As for Scar being evil, I'd say he was. He was underhanded and vengeful, and showed no mercy nor had any sense of shame. I'd say that's pretty evil.

Very bad. He murdered his own brother in cold blood just so he could get a position of power. That`s pretty extreme in my opinion.

He isn't bad if you ask me. (Not his fault anyway.) From what it sounds like he was neglected as a cub, and is only trying to fit into the world. He wanted others to listen and just pay attention to him.
