I concede that I never really gave much thought to the change in her appearance, but don't females of any mammalian species tend to look slimmer after giving birth?

Don't you think you may be over-thinking this a bit? It's still a cartoon. I am fairly certain the production team wasn't thinking about this at all when they were working on the character.

Well, I have to admit, that ALOT of dogs get super skinny after having pups. My wolf-dog willow was a bean-pole after having her litter (Accidental btw). But you could see her ribs and everything; this was after the 8 pups were weaned and found homes. We had to beef her back up afterwards, though it didn't take long.
Besides, I myself have 2 children and after both I went down to looking normal within a day or two. So its not impossible. I recall getting those "I hate you" looks from the other women in the OB-GYN office for my check ups afterwards.

Anywho, as far as the pups and their ears are concerned its just a cartoon, its pointless to try to rationalize it in the first place. WQ was far from a winner to begin with; Much like many have already said XD

I don't see why pregnancy would be considered inappropriate. Kids see it in real life plenty of times, even within their own families if they have younger siblings. Jenna "doesn't look it" because we don't see her until after the pups are born; there's no reason to show her pregnant.

I agree with Natti, pregnancy is in no way inappropriate. Besides, they show Chicha during her pregnancy in The Emporer's New Groove, and not once have I heard that being called innapropriate

The whole movie annoyed me a bit to be honest.

Normally after giving birth a dog will look skinnier in no time. I remember witnessing the birth of my two dogs when I was five (my sister owned the mother and father of my two dogs) and even now ten years later I still recall that it didn't take long for Mishka to become skinny again after having her healthy litter of seven... And she was a Maltese x Lhasa Apso! Quite a smallish dog. Not that the size of the dog matters.. Just that smaller dogs tend to look/get chubbier easier xD

Considering that we're talking about Wolf Quest, I'm sure that making her look pregnant wasn't even taken into consideration. And really, it's a minor detail.
