Swahili is one of the languages used in The Lion King. Everyone who has seen The Lion King knows Swahili:

HAKUNA MATATA

It does mean 'no worries' in Swahili.

On this thread I will post my rolling banner 'Quote of the Week' as well as other useful tips on pronunciation and useful phrases. I will also hold a challenge where I will select a winner every week.

The challenge is to create a graphic/drawing/fanfic based on the 'Quote of the Week'. At the end of the week, I will announce the winner and create a prize for them.

Nice idea! I hope this will make this site more active, about two years ago there were at least ten drawings, twenty images, and ten characters every week

I put it on the Lion King fan news because I thought it was only Lion King related, but if you think it could go on the global site news then by all means add it up!
I have had so much fun making these and I hope people join in - we need more activity!

Lesson 1: Greetings

Welcome (singular) = Karibu (Kah-ree-boo)
Welcome (plural) = Karibuni (Kah-ree-boo-nee)
Hello (informal) = Jambo (Jam-bo)
Hello (singular) = Hujambo (Hoo-jam-bo)
Hello (plural) = Hamjambo (Ham-jam-bo)

The reply to Hujambo or Hamjambo is = Sijambo (See-jam-bo)
