Plot

Beams of light crisscross across the sky, golden orb floating gently down, lowered on gossamer threads, before plunging down behind the snow-capped mountains, the sky gold and orange and rose, the after-images of the life-giving sun. Pale traces of watercolor slowly seep off the horizon, the softly luminescent after-images fading away to reveal a star-spangled sky. Constellations wheel across the mass of blackness, specks of gold in a solid block of granite, a softly eerie, silver moon proceeding over the arrangement.

Far, far below, the creatures of the night stir, lifting leathery wings, snapping tendons into motion. Others rise, with a brighter air, who do not belong to the shadows, but to the light, brightest in their deeds. Still more - those in between the two forces. Night passes, lives intermingle, before and when the golden star which earth calls it's own rises yet again.

Through rugged mountains, through deepest valleys, through rivers, lakes and streams, do the creatures roam, one creature dominating them all. A sorrowful howl rises up amongst the stars, intermingling and twining with air and breath and life, fusing with light and shadows alike. "Ugh.." Alaska growled, fur on end. "where is Frostline!" he snarled over his pack. A wolf looked up to him and said, "Sir," Alaska peered down at him. "she left a few hours ago, on a solo hunt." he said as Ghost, Alaska's mate, sat next to her mate and peered down as well.

Alaska watched as the sun rose up and greeted the mountains, and the pack. He sat at the edge of the den, and perked his ears forward as the footsteps of the wolves in his pack pierced the silence. Birds and other animals joined in, making another day go perfectly fine. Until, Alaska, wondered where his beta female, Frostline had not trotted out the den like usual. She gazed outside then running out happily and joyfully. Alaska smiled.

"Hmm?" he turned his head to Aisu. "Nothing's wrong.." he smiled.
Back at the Dark Shadows pack, Tundra left his standing point to hunt. Smirking, he ran off and laughed at the wolves still left at the den.
Frostline, kept running, in search of the wolf named, "Wanderer." Frostline smiled. 'It was cool to go retrieve a wolf for the pack' she though.
"I'm just waiting for Frostline, have you seen her? She's supposed to find the wolf named Wanderer. She'll be new to the pack." he looked back at Aisu.
Ghost sighed to herself, hanging her head low and lying down. She lied her head on her forepaws and left her eyes to close.
Nevada smiled to herself, running along side the wind while she hunt, the snow glistening in the sun.

History- Zach was born to a pair of wolves still running his past pack, the Mountain Creek pack. He's left ever since his mother died after a pack hunt. History-
Moki is a calm, playful wolf who loves watching the sunset and blends into the snow. Her history was only shared with her friend, Nevada, who personally already knew it. Moki ran a pack called "The Western Lake pack." Her pack and mate slowly deceased after the invasion of hunters/ Moki has been flirted with many of the male wolves in the current pack she rests in today, the Mountain Creek pack. Many of the wolves, including beta male and beta half brothers, Aisu and Raiu. Though, flirting doesn't help their case of wanting a mate, she's a tough wolf to break. Meanwhile, she doesn't know of a way to tell her new alpha male, Alaska, she's pregnant and is expecting pups anytime soon.

Moki stared at her stomach, she didn't care if her pups were killed by her alpha any more. Something, just, didn't want her to put up with anything. She didn't care anymore about when she was to give birth. "This, I just can't take anymore.." she said out loud though, no one hearing as she was alone.


Alaska stared back at Moki, wondering where Frostline was and what was wrong with Moki at the same time.


Ghost looked over at Alaska. 'Today must be stare at everybody day..' she thought..


"Fox, Helen, I need you two to go out hunting for the pack. Food has been a little scarce today.." Zach looked around, looking at all the wolves lie in the dead, but still barely green grass.

Raiu took a seat next to Aisu, both brothers waiting for any orders Alaska may give them.

Helena nodded at her Alpha in agreement. He was right, food was oh so very hard to find nowadays. The female glanced sideways at the lifeless bodies of her pack members. The sight unnerved her and the guard turned to face the younger wolf who had padded up beside her. “You heard the Alpha,” she said gruffly, but tried not to sound harsh. “Let’s go.”
With a swish of her tail, the older wolf whirled around and led the way into the woods, stopping at the edge of the tree line to wait for the tracker to follow. ’I don’t know why we’re doing this,’ she thought, her lips pulled into her signature grim frown. ’I know Alpha Zach means well, but all of this hunting is done in vain! There is hardly any food left in the region; we need to move the pack to new hunting grounds if we plan to prosper.’

Fox watched as Helena walked past her after issuing her demand. The little wolf barked as a reply. “I’ll be right with you, Helena!” She turned back to Zach with a not-so-cheery smile, but she tried to be kind. “I’ sure you know game hasn’t been very active lately in our territory, but we will try our best to bring a meal to the pack, Alpha.”
Fox quickly ran off to join Helena’s side and the two wolves walked into the forest, this time, with Fox, the tracker, in the lead.

Chauncey dragged his injured leg through the thin snow that covered the ground in small patches. He had tried to take down a female caribou, and he had managed to evade her heavy antlers to get a few bites on her hide, but he faltered and the lone wolf was rammed by those head-mounted bones. When he tried to run, the cow had charged him again, this time she swept the poor wolf up in her antler. Chauncey’s left hind leg got caught in the tangle of bone as she threw him into the ground. He swear he could feel his leg break, but lucky for him, Chauncey managed to run off with a lame leg.
“Glad it’s not broke,” he spoke out loud to himself and avoided a thin sheet of ice. “Or I wouldn’t survive the night.” The rusty-colored wolf managed to get into the pine forests and limp onto a rock that jutted out from the ground into the air above. As soon as he flopped down on the cold surface, the canine’s ears perked up at the sound of someone approaching.
’Make that two someones,’ he thought and crawled forward on his belly to peek over the rock face. Chauncey cocked his head to the side when he saw two wolves, both females, approaching and talking to each other. From what he could make out, the girls were complaining about the food shortages. Chauncey smirked to himself. ’That’s so true,’ he silently agreed.

Alaska stared at the two.. "Get movin." he snarled. "This pack isn't for lazy wolves. Go hunt or something. God, I swear I do this everyday.." Alaska slowly made his way off the den, padding through the snow that hadn't melted.
Zach, on the other hand, stayed close to den, wondering what has happened with the shortage of food. "D***it." he snarled. "We've got to get food..."
