Coraline was just... freaky. I would never watch that movie late at night. EVER. The end credits with the bat/dogs and the children's choir singing was just really creepy. *shudders*

What scared me about it is the doll with the button eyes and Beldam
Because she calls cats vermin and I do NOT like when cats are called bad names
but mostly because she takes you away from your parents

Hands down it has to be Felidae ... I love this movie but it is really distrubing to me someone who is highly against animal cruelty! I hate how people sterotype animation to be for children .. this german dubbed movie is more suitable for teens and adults.
Coraline gave me the freaks as well :L

and The Triplets of Belleville. It wasn't really a disturbing movie, in that it didn't contain sex, or language, but some of it was pretty violent and the film, over all, had a kind of gloomy outlook (though it wasn't a gloomy movie).

I am in TOTAL agreement with "The Triplets of Bellville" not bloody, gory or sexual...it is just DISTURBING, and it is hard to put your finger on why. All I know is that is just left me with a feeling of dread, and I haven't watched it since.

My daughter (22 years old) has brought up a animated piece called "Saladfingers" that disturbed her so much she feels as if it did her psychological harm. Has anyone here seen it?

Some of the movies mentioned on this topic are actually very enjoyable! Only if you aren't under 10.

This has been mentioned before but:

Felidae.

This movie was a waste of my time and disturbed me very badly.
Other people may say it had great animation and plot and whatever. I don't see any of that. As an avid cat lover, it was just disgusting to me. It's not like I haven't watched crime thrillers before, but this one I just couldn't get behind. Hated it. There was absolutely NO redeeming feature for me. The animation was so-so. I hated the main character. The plot was...weird..and if you understand cat behavior, it didn't make sense NOR was it believable. Again, no redeeming features. none. I will never watch again.

Not the most disturbing, but the saddest one I've seen was The Grave of the Fireflies (1988).

Many tears were shed.
