Today I did an image scavenger hunt on a category of dog, and breed is not the right word, on the Alaskan Husky. Their body shapes and coat colors are widely varied, far beyond what is seen in typical malamutes or siberian huskies. Some were very husky looking, some closer to an actual wolf, and some retaining the spitz look but with a whole new twist on certain areas that I cannot clearly explain. No standard of regcognition exists and dog fanciers just consider them only for breeding experimentation. With all these varied looks I could not help but wonder and did see hints in these dogs that shared a few or some common features with the unidentified breeds of Balto dog characters, and that the animators must have got inspiration from seeing Alaskan huskies. I'm also sure that I can throw in another sledding breed, the Seppala sled dog, which has as many unique coat colors as AHs. During a Google search on AHs I lucked out on this one photo I could not miss without telling someone who is a fan of Balto, and that gave me the idea to post this topic here.






Here we have a Steele-look-a-like AH existing in the hot nation of Mexico:

And here I see hints of Kaltag in the orange/white dog:

I finally stumbled upon a Nikki look-a-like in Greenland dogs. But this one is a girl.













Closest I could find of a Jenna look-a-like. And this is a stud. Gender switch today.

Star was a hard one, as his build is skinnier than a Klee Kai, like he is, should be. And he always looks so goofy. Finally found one that could resemble Star.



Preety goofy dog, so I think it fits Star. And it's gray, which is fitting. xD

This is my dog- fanly named after Balto himself,
I think he looks similar, just hes grey and white, no brown and a lighter brown C:

I have seen so many dogs that look like Steele (my favorite character, along with Balto) that it is not even funny (those markings are fairly common).

He does ^^ so cute,

And this one also looks just like Steele. Like I said, those are fairly common markings and generally what I think of when I see a husky.



As for one that looks like Jenna, I snapped this at a dryland mushing challenge in 2011. Unfortunately, my Mom's camera kept running low on batteries so I did not get the best pictures. This is what I generally see when I see a red husky. (I wish they would hold the race again this year)

And I think demon form snow dogs- and max from eight below ( same dog actor-dj) look like steel, ^^
