Okay... I have no idea if this is in the right section, I'm gonna guess yes because it's the only group of its kind. Though if you ask me, 'RPG talks' should be in 'General Fan & Roleplaying', though that might just be me.
For a while I've had an idea for a topic, and this is it:
-
I have a habit of RPing with people because I like the plot, and things at first are going rather well, and then it hits me...
'This isn't going anywhere!'
Now what I mean by that is, our RP style is so different. Granted you have the option for private RPs, advanced, semi, and what not, but you never really know how the person RPs unless you read what they post. You could take forever searching through endless RPs [and trust me I'm not exaggerating by much], or we could post examples.
So, I propose, that those who like to RP, post an example of how they RP here. Use Balto and/or whoever since this is in the 'Balto RPG talks', post what comes to mind, post as long as you usually post, if you have writers block [like myself], then come back later. If you think you've improved, come back and post again!
I hope this takes off, or at least you read and consider. It'd be great if this could be stickied if it's a decent idea, but either way, thoughts are appreciated.

Interesting idea, RD! I'm willing to set this aflame As Balto's course fur that was grayed with age whipped around in the piercing wind of the storm, his mind flicked from his burning eyes to his reason for staying alive; Jenna. He choked out the words, "Jenna... I'm coming Je-" a slice of the storm gusting down his throat, causing him to cough and stop his sentence. The hybrid could barely breathe in, because he thought that if he did, the snow and sleet would get caught in his nose and choke him, and he had to stay alive for his mate and pups. Being dragged out here into what seemed like a frozen hell, just because Steele had a bone to pick with him, didn't seem worth it at all. Balto had no idea where the malamute husky had disappeared to, and even though Balto was nearly killed in the fight, he pressed on, drops of blood rythmically dropping into the snow, melting it ever-so-slightly, then quickly being covered over again. This is the end. The wolfdog thought as his dripping hind leg began to throb even more, and every time he fell back on it, it felt like Steele was attacking it all over again. Balto was kicked out of his thought when a large gust of icy wind knocked him back on his injured -nearly torn apart- leg, and he howled and yelped in pain, but quickly silenced himself. He didn't want to attract any other animals that may be in this area. However, as Balto thrust himself back onto his feet, it seemed his howl of pain traveled to someone's eardrums. A shadow appeared in front of him that had four thin legs, a strong build and alerted ears. It called out to him, "Dad! Daaa..." the voice was lost with another whistle of the wind that seemed like it's goal was to kill the once-was hero. But Balto was determined. He lifted his head and yelled out to the familiar shadow, "Koooodiii!"

This is a very cool idea. Well, my example is from a roleplay I did a while ago. I may post a more resent one when I have more time.
Jake was sniffing around the outskirts of town, looking for a good meal. Rabbit or crow. He would even go for a good trash can at the moment. Jake looked up when he noticed that he was nearing a boat that was tied down next to a small, frozen lake. This sight only meant one thing, Balto. Jake had, you could say, befriended the older wolf dog. They were, after all, very similar. Jake was half german shepherd, half wolf, but his brown and black marbled fur, thick pelt, larger paws, and instict to hunt all told Jake that he belonged more with the wolves than dogs. The only trait he had inherited from his shepherd mother were her green eyes.
Jake walked up the ramp that led onto the boat like he owned the place. In the world of outcastd wolfdogs, everyone stayed together and shared what they had. Jake liked to think that they made they're own little pack; Balto and Jake and Jess and Spark. But the older wolfdog wasn't in today. Jake sighed before jumping down from the boat and heading back out into the forest. More prey there. But then he picked up the scent of another wolf. He could tell it was she, for she smelt of season. And her path led right into Nome. Jake, nose to the ground, followed the scent. A phrase came into mind as he walked into the border of town. Curiousity killed the cat. Well, it was a good thing he wasn't a cat, now wasn't it?

Thanks guys! I'm glad some like the idea, and I hope more post 8] Both are very good and detailed! @ Paws: Dang! I wanna know more about what happens next! Excellent detail with the blood. I find many aren't comfortable including blood into a RP ^^ I'm gonna steal Black Rose's idea and post an older post from an RP [that sadly kinda died]. It's fairly the same as my style now I think. If I find it to not be I'll of course update later. ;] + The crowds were cheering, people running in the streets, all shouting praise of the same name; Balto. Steele dodged a few men rushing by who almost crushed his paws in their hurry to see the hero. He himself couldn't see him, and at the moment, he didn't even want to see him. It seemed only yesterday when all those cheers and crowds were for him, the fastest dog in Nome. But that all changed. Soon he'll be a forgotten memory. Hatred still lingered over the wolf-dog, and with all that was going on, it was stronger than ever. Steele snuffed and turned away, shoulders hunched and a growl deep set in his throat. His thoughts were so jumbled with emotion, he didn't know how to react. Should he go into a mad frenzy and attack their hero? Of course not. Even if his deepest subconsious allowed it, the humans wouldn't let him get close. He wanted to cry out to the world with his anger, but of course said nothing. He continued walking the near empty street. What little people there were on the street where all heading the same direction in a rush; the direction Steele had just come. Steele stopped and stared into the distance. He could have been their hero. He risked the cold winds and the furry of the blizzard too. His team and even him almost died. And surely he had done it for the same reasons right? At that moment, with that last thought, a pang in his gut told him what was obvious. He didn't care about those dying people. The men, the women...children. All who may have previously cheered him on jumping with excitement and laughter with their friends and families on the side-lines when he was racing to the finish. He only cared for fame, the greed of glory, he only cared about himself.

I LOVE this idea. It's a very good one ^^ I'm sorry to say, but this is from another RP A very recent one though! ^^ From a few days ago I believe. Ryan walked along the sidewalk, kicking a rock as he did. School just ended, and once again he was walking home alone. He adjusted his backpack so that it slung over one shoulder. Suddenly, he heard something on the other side of the street. Before he even had time to say "What the heck?", something crashed into him, throwing him on the floor of the alley beside him. The figure was dark in the alley. He could barely see it. But it looked like a woman. She had blue eyes and fiery red hair. But in less than a second, it felt as if his entire neck was burning. And after a minute, his entire body. He fought and struggled. He didn't scream, though, because he wasn't one to scream. He was quiet and didn't speak out much. He finally found the strength to kick the rock hard woman off him. She hissed, blood all over her fangs, and sped in the opposite direction. The damage had been done... As Ryan rolled on the floor, in more pain than all his other injuries combined, he was slowly changing into something different...

Alright, I think this is a good idea, and who would I be not to give an example?
Prologue
Staring into the hearth, a smile further wrinkled the seemingly ancient face. The dull glow of the dying flames partially lit her face, casting one half in dramatic shadows, rather fitting, considering the situation, and the child in front of her. The child in question lay in a crib, laying asleep, or quietly awake. Obviously, the fire within her was strong, a fact that would be incredibly useful in her later years.
"Ember..." she mused. "A fitting name, I suppose." The wrinkled, secretive smile faded into a grim, serious expression. "Considering how that's all that's left of our tribe. We once were strong flames, burning bright and true. Yet we were extinguished, leaving only....embers." The grin formed once again, although it was smaller and more ironic than anything.
Staring at the crib, she hobbled over to it, her stiff bones creaking with age. A wrinkled, think hand touched the smooth, rosy cheek, the touch light. The infant's eyes opened, the smokey grey irises staring solemnly into her grandmother's face that loomed above her. A few wisps of red hair were barely visible on her head, and a small, flame-shaped birthmark was visible on her neck, marking her as an obvious member of the tribe.
"You are all that's left, young one," she said slowly and softly. "We have crumbled, and tribe once great now close to becoming extinct." She paused. "We were strong flames, that burned bright no matter what was thrown at us. Now, we are nothing but ash."
"You are the remaning ember."
Chapter One
Ember stared into the mirror, groaning as she ran her fingers through her hair. As usual, it was incredibly messy, full of snarls and curls. In some ways, the look suited her, but in others, she hated it passionately. Picking up a hairbrush, she tried to break through the wall of defensive tangles, but she quickly gave up, the effort fruitless. I'm guessing it's time for another haircut, she thought, biting her lip to refrain from groaning again. She absolutely hated having her hair cut, it took to long, and the loose strands tickled her nose. Her impatient nature made this an almost impossible task, and she was certain the barber dreaded her unfortunatly frequent visits almost as muuch as she did, if not more.
She turned around, unable to look in the mirror any longer. The sight that greeted her was almost as messy as her hair. Clothes were strewn all over the room, along with numerous books, unfinished projects, and somewhere, her phone. It was normal for her room to look this way, ir mirrored Ember's personality. Messy and chaotic, seemingly in a hurry. It was actually slightly cleaner than normal, only due to the fact she was able to find most things, even if they weren't in their rightful positions. It wasn't that she cared whether it was clean or not, only her mom, and other numerous visitors, did.
The only relative that didn't wince when they passed the ajar door was her grandmother. In fact, she seemed almost pleased with it. It was just one of the many strange antics and quirks Ember had grown used to over the years. There was only one thing she still found odd. It was only noticeable when, and if, you spent the night at her house, which she did often. Her grandmother often talked in her dream, something along the lines of ashes, with only an ember left. Oddly, she often felt as if her grandmother were referring to her when she murmured lines similiar to this. It may have only been for the reason that her name was Ember, but it seemed to be something beyond that, though what, she wasn't quite sure.
(Note: Taken from my story 'Embers', found in the fanfic section.)

I'll also yoink a previous post I've made, though a very recent one. I'm playing two characters here, and they'll be separated by an extra line or two of space.
-----------------------
The sun was setting somewhere behind those clouds that were littering the earth with snow. The storm would likely only get worse as the night deepened, but it was still early enough in the year that by the next day, all traces of the white flakes would be gone, replaced by moist ground and light sunshine. It might even be moderately warm if the system moved quickly. Even if it were, in a month's time winter would have its icy grip on the land once more.
A bird cried somewhere above, and in response a wolf with one blue eye and one amber eye glanced up to the tree tops. Patches of white fur surrounded both eyes and then were lost in the sea of tan fur that covered most of her body. Black ears sprang from the center of her head and her muzzle looked as though someone had rolled over it with a paint roller dipped in the same black. The underside of her muzzle, rebellious as it was, started a trend of white that ran completely down her underside, with little patches of black interrupting near what could be construed as her shoulders, knees, and the tip of her tail. The white, not to be outdone and in a last ditch effort to make the female's frame flashy, blazed a trail along her spine from her withers to the very end of her croup. She stood on a frame that some might consider willowy, and with no gray fur in site it was easy to see she was a bit young.
Asphodel gazed at the bird for quite some time before turning and moving on under the trees. She had other, more pressing matters to deal with unfortunately. Her legs beat in time to a quick rhythm and, ever watchful, she made her way back toward the area of Jet's cave. A low peel of thunder made her glance up for a second, but she didn't bother to stop. Several moments later, and after catching the scent of something dead nearby, she spotted the male wolf a short distance away and woofed at him. It wasn't a very dignified greeting, but being that it was just the two of them, she didn't feel like being dignified at the moment.
"I just finished surveying the area. It seems nice enough."
She spoke carefully, waiting to really put any enthusiasm in her opinion of the surrounding territory. In truth, she'd like it a lot. It was picturesque; a small field lay roughly fifty meters to their north, with a formidable boulder resting curiously in the center against an old willow tree, though there didn't seem to really be any place for it to have come from. All around the field and throughout the rest of the area were trees, packed densely in some places and loosely in others. A stream semi-circled its way through the trees and partially around the field, though there was quite a distance between them both on any given side. The stream led to a tiny waterfall and pool, which upon further investigation had a grotto like area behind it. The great mountain was on the total north side of the area, and it would lend some protection from the vast majority of the dangerous weather. All in all it seemed like a smart place to claim for the pack she was planning.
Of course, perhaps the best trait of all was its distance from the Astral territory. It would provide shelter and cover for the fledgling pack as they built their numbers and a safe haven for any fleeing the tyranny to their east. No wolf or other menacing scent had touched this place from what she could tell. That fact alone made As want to claim the area more than anything. She was so tired of searching fruitlessly, especially after being pleasantly surprised here. It was as though this place had been calling her all along, and now that she'd found it she couldn't deny that it seemed perfect to her.
"What do you think? Or have you been sleeping instead of looking around?" she casually joked, a smile crawling onto her muzzle.
A dark brown wolf lay stretched across a flat rock, basking in what little sunlight filtered through the clouds. His fur, lighter in the places where strange tribal symbols had been etched into it and the very skin that lay beneath it, ruffled lightly in the breeze. Anywhere but the Nexxus it would have been a strange sight, those symbols, and certainly the mane that also adorned his cranial area. Of course, other than those two features the other thing those not from the Nexxus would have noticed right away was his sheer size. At full, anthropomorphic height he easily dwarfed many human men, and many of his own kind as well. And Zhivel used his size to his advantage.
Presently however, he was content to lay there, digesting the meal he'd consumed earlier that morning. His ears flicked restlessly as he listened to his surroundings. The chatter mostly came from the animals in the trees nearby, but he also detected the voices of some of the pack, quite a way off. Normally he would have called them out as being lazy, but since he heard them sparring, he was more than happy to leave them to it. After all, practice was never a bad thing.
A few moments later, he caught the light tread of another coming his way. He was certain it had to be Quilat by the pattern of the footfalls.
"What do you want, Quilat?" he asked with false sleepiness in his voice.
He rolled to face the other, but didn't open his eyes. Had he, he still would have seen the other despite the massive scars on his eyelids and the milky gray pupils that screamed cataracts and blindness. Of course, it wouldn't be the normal kind of sight that most wolves had. Despite still being able to see, in a manner of speaking, he wasn't candid with the fact, and few wolves other than Hispeth knew of this ability. Most just assumed that his ears had taken over for his lack of sight with spooky accuracy, which of course was also very true.

I like you idea; I'm very intrigued. Here, I'll post an example of mine. Please note the length is a bit abnormal for me. c:
Playing as Jacinda from Balto Source, of course.
Notice: I am a very beginning writer, I am still allowing it room to expand and develop. So I am not a hard-core advanced player.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
With a submissive sigh, the world gave way to unfurl into a primitive gloom. Shadows roughly edged the softened expanse, as if an artist had only just begun to scratch the surface of life onto his canvas. His pencil dropping in some areas, in most cases where the light proceeded dark. A hunched form prowled the margin of dew immersed grass, paying no heed to the gathering mist. The recent traces of rain squelched in a protesting manner against her aching pads as she cut throughout the blazed trail.
Jacinda lifted her head to observe. Her sharpened scope included the tiniest of things; from the gentle patter of a sparrows' wings, or the infinite rush of the brook beside. She heaved, her newly groomed chest rising and falling in a rhythmic notion.
Her ears pricking, she relieved a fantasy unwinding through the dense fogs of her mind. The spatter of blood, descending to kiss the earth in a spiting pool. The sour tang of it against her tongue. The meshing of downy fur as it mingled with her jaws. And the slating sound of the parents' vowing cry to reverberate across her sorrowful memory.
She had not meant to kill the pup.
For she had been terribly misled.
As if tangible, the memories roughly resurrected and unfolded before her glowing eyes. It blinded her from all modesty. In her wild world, she increased her plodding gait to that of a sprint.
Muscles curling and bunching, then releasing with grateful sighs; screaming with agony as the process began to start anew. A sharpened yelp exploded into the night to shatter the weighing silence.
..No.
It could not be!
They were hunting her, as vengefully promised.
~
Jessica smiled, looking at Dawson, who seemed to be caught up in tears. She looked at everyone around: Thomas, Anna, Dawson, John and Jake. Everyone, who have been with her all this time. She loved every single one of them very much, and she knew that she will remember these days in the mountain for whole her life. She slowly tried to get up, feeling all her arms and legs still hurt. Heck, she couldn't even feel her arms properly, but she was happy nonetheless. She saw John, kneeling down beside her and touching her cheek with a smile. She smiled back, and was about to hug him when suddenly Dawson pinned him to the ground, punching him in rage. She felt deadly scared about both, for she had never seen Dawson to be like that. Not from what she remembered, and her mind really was blown now. Still, she was shocked and terrified by this sudden rage of Dawson's. She would've tried to get up and go break up the fight, but then John pushed Dawson off, and Jessica sighed with relief.
Jake looked at the two brothers fighting, and then at Anna who shouted for his help. If the fight was any more serious than that, he surely would've done something, but this time he knew that Dawson just needed to recover, and he just didn't know how. "They will break off, Anna, don't worry." he said quietly, but firmly, which was a rare thing for him. He just now realised that this event, these few days in the moments have hardened him, his temper, have changed him from that little careless boy to a caring man. He was surprised and happy to find this out about himself.
Jessica chuckled when she saw the two brothers hurrying up to her. She couldn't help but cuddle up tightly to Dawson when he hugged her. She felt so safe, warm and happy. She kissed him him on the cheek, near his lips, and smiled warmly. Then she also hugged John, who looked...alot unlike he was all this time. Now he appeared to be softer and actually caring, what he lacked before, at least in her opinion. One way or another, mountains have really given something to every single one of them.
When they stopped hugging, she looked at Anna and Thomas, having this uncomfortable, cold conversation. She saw Anna having many wounds on her body, but they had to move. No matter what, Jess has always trusted in Thomas: he was older, he was experienced, he knew what to do. They just had to move away. Jess suddenly felt like a load to all of them. She shouldn't be laying here, when she can just stand up and go. Of course, it would take some time for her to fully recover, but still, at least she wouldn't be laying there.
She slowly tried to stand up, with her legs shaking. She leaned against a tree, barely able to stand still, and stayed there for a few minutes. "Umm, Dawson? Instead of trying to argue with both Anna and Thomas, you could help me walk with all of you guys. It's nothing much, I would just lean on your shoulder and slowly walk." she said and smiled at him warmly.
Jake couldn't help it anymore. He was so happy that they were finally out and alive. Yes, they were injured. Yes, they were out of food, they were cold and all that. But still, they were free. He walked up to Anna, hugged her tightly and looked into her eyes. "Please forgive me, I just can't help myself..." he whispered into her ear, and then gently kissed her cheek, smiling very widely.
