I drew a realistic wolf based on a REAL wolf pic. Is that allowed?

And are moutain lions under Lion King or under Balto?

Well, that depends if the wolf is a Balto fan-char and the horses Spirit fan-chars, and if you've got other canine/horse art in your Balto/Spirit gallery.

So, about the matter of screenshots from the films. I've got some pictures patterned after the popular Motivational posters, in which a snapshot is surrounded by a black frame with white text embedded at the bottom, typically reflecting something connected with the picture (e.g. a sunset might go with the word "Beauty" and something about the beauty of the sunset). Is that acceptable?

UPDATE: Talked to Steet in the shoutbox, he said it was fine.

Renders are fan images, so no, renders are not allowed in fanart.

OK im sorry if you might hae heard this from someone else but why cant we do modifyed picture like i took a week to modify this pitcure to put on here now it says i cant

im not trying to bug but why cant we?? like modifyed pics from the movies not from other artists on here. :?:

That's because renders are fan images, they're not art. If that's what you meant. There really isn't more of an explanation.

The complete fan art/character submission/fan image rules sets NEED to be updated with the information in this link. Because there are plenty of sparkles and unrealistics still being submitted.

Can we get that done please, and maybe pester steet to link those to the character creations page? As well as updating the information pages for submissions of fan art and fan images? Hmm?

As far as I'm concerned, that's exactly why the world has furaffinity, sofurry, and inkbunny art communities for the mature artists. As I mentioned via PMs, the mature ones I do are only for those 3 outside galleries. I bet you'll agree with that logic, huh?
