"That was an accident," Vanessa said, quick to defend herself. "And that's not why," she added to his last comment, not wanting to admit that her mind had been thinking that. "But I don't need to be taken in like a lost dog."

"We where just gunna have a snack! Not make you spend the night on the couch or anything." He stated with a little huff, by that time they reached an old gas station and approached the only car in the parking lot. A big red Jeep that was clearly a few years old, but well taken care of. Griffin politely opened the passenger side door for Ness.

Vanessa was a bit put out by Griffin's sour reaction, though that had been what she wanted, right? She quietly got into the jeep, not even making a comment about him opening the door for her.

He carefully closed the door for her and then walked over to get into the drivers side. Starting the jeep and driving off down the road, clearly deep in thought he absent mindedly spoke. "Are you okay... You seem really spooked?" He couldn't help but ask quietly.

Vanessa stared out the car door window, not really sure what to say. She wanted to give him some sort of explanation for her jumpiness, but she couldn't possibly tell him the truth. "Well, uh, there was an accident on the road when I was sitting in my car," she started, just now remembering the drunk driver who almost killed her. "I don't think the guy was sober, and he crashed into a tree. I... um, went over to see if he was okay, but he was unconscious. Then this...er, well, this... bear charged out of the woods, and I had to run back to the car. I was so freaked out I forgot to call the police about the accident," she added, putting her fingers to her bottom lip in worry, thinking that she probably should have called the cops as soon as it happened. "I'll do that as soon as we get back..."

Griffin was quiet after that. He gripped the steering wheel tightly. Deep down there was something he wanted to tell her. But how could he tell her something such as this. Would it change her already bitter view of him? He ignored his feelings and pulled into the park and pulled up next to her car. He grabbed some jumped cables from under the seat. "Ready?" He asked softly.

Vanessa sat quietly, not expecting Griffin to be silent after that. It was strange being in the car with him and the atmosphere around them being so serious. Without his quirky, annoying comments, it didn't feel like she was next to Griffin. "Yeah," she said nodding, opening the door and hopping down from the jeep.

He didn't feel much like himself either. He'd never had to hide anything from Vanessa. He was an open book, he had nothing to hide an no reason to want to. He knew he couldn't say anything to her, how would she react. Overdramaticaly? Terrified? Angry? He popped the hood to both vehicles before hooking one up to the other wile he remained lost in his thoughts/

Vanessa felt Griffin's lack of character and found herself also rather quiet, though her head was empty of thought. She was mostly willing herself not to think to much about the events from earlier or what she would say to the police when she finally called to report the accident. She helped Griffin hook up the cars before returning to her own to test out the engine after he jumped it.

Griffin sighed with releif when he heard her little car finally start. Griffin climbed out of his Jeep and walked over to her, undoing the jumpers and tossing them in the backseat of his ride before turning to face her, his familiar but somewhat halfhearted grin came to his scratched and grubby face. "You gunna be okay?" He asked, looking at her with his shimmering blue eyes.

Vanessa sighed with relief as her car engine finally revved on. She looked up at Griffin and actually looked at him for the first time that night, finally noticing how dirty and rough he looked, as if he'd been out in the woods all night. She resisted the urge to ask, not feeling witty enough to cover up her curiosity with a sarcastic remark and did not want to be teased for showing concern. "Yeah, I'll be fine," she said simply, glancing back out at the woods one more time just in case a pair of shining blue eyes were there again. When the memory of those blue irises came into vision, her mind for some reason made them look a lot more like Griffin's than Nessa thought they had been. She shook away the comparison, realizing that she really must have been suffering from sleep deprivation and should most likely see a psychiatrist.

He gave a curt nod, fiddling around with some fog that had formed on her windsheild. "Well, I'll see ya later.." He said softly as he mopped back to his jeep. He got in an drove off quickly without another word. But in the small area of fogged window was a little smilee face.. With it's tounge sticking out.

Vanessa sat inside her car for moment, thinking about all that had happened that night, when her eyes noticed the smiley face in the corner of her windshield. It only took a second for her to recognize it as the same that had been written on her windshield once before that night, but it took her almost a full minute to process it. She glanced back up at Griffin to see him already driving away. "I'm going to hate myself for this," she muttered before she quickly drove her car, trying to catch up with him. She wasn't sure what she was going to do or say, but she couldn't let that go.

Griffin noticed Vanessa's car in his rearveiw. "What the h*ll?" He said to himself, watching her in the mirror a few more minutes. At first he thought she was just a little lost, but it then hit him that she was infact following him. But why? He wondered dimly. Was there something wrong? This thought made him pull over, and open his door, slowly getting out and turning back to face her, squinting a little in her headlights.

Vanessa pulled right behind Griffin, completely running on adrenaline and not really thinking about what she was doing. She flung herself out of the car and pointed at her windshield accusingly even though the offending smile face had completely faded away now. "Why did you draw that on my window?" she demanded, not knowing what kind of answer she was going to get or what she was wanting to hear.
