I always believed that Zira wasn't just a fan-girl of Scar. No lioness could be that devoted to someone like Scar and not have some kind of... what's the word? Oh, yeah, deep sense of wanting to fulfill a last wish. It was love and obsession that drove Zira, no doubt about it.

No matter what anyone says, what Disney did or didn't say, Scar and Zira were mates. Besides, a lioness had to have been the queen during Scar's rule. Why not Zira? She was just as power-bent and crazy as Scar was. Perfect couple right there.

I agree with Brown Wolf,if Zira was just a fangirl,why would she hates Simba so much?When the Outlanders join Simba's pride,Zira don't.And what about "This is for you,Scar!"?She is absolutly more then a fangirl.

That's a storybook not written by the film's makers, thus it does not serve as a proof when it comes to the movie's story. That is only the vision of whoever wrote that novelixation. It is possible they were mates in an early VERSION of the movie story too, but there is no official proof that they were so also in the final version that is the movie we see. I believe the matter was changed along with Kovu's - but it hardly matters, as the story workd either way.

In the second movie they did mention a few times that Scar was Kovu's "step-dad" so to say, so that would pretty much point out that Zira and Scar were mates, but as usual the fans always just love to make their own conclusions even with the evidence in front of them!

The only thing the film says is that Scar is not Kovu's father and that Scar chose him to be his heir. The film makers' vision could be that Scar could do that to any child he felt worthy of it. He doesn't necessarely have a relationship with the mother in their vision.

The words "step-dad" or even "Sca'rs son" was never mentioned in the film. The only official footage where I've heard Scar and Kovu spoken of in a father/son tone is the deleted scene and even in that only in the heir-way, not in a child-way. Hence, accepting someone as your heir doesn't force you to have a relationship with the mother or even be interested in the mother. And hence, a deleted scene. Something that's deleted no longer applies to the final outcome that it's not a part of. The film makers might have changed their visions (whatever it was) since that scene was dropped.

In short: the film offers no absolute proof of Zira and Scar's relationship any further than that Zira was a fangirl.

Disney's official sites' articles are known for their errors in information related to the movies. So I'd consider official sites as questionable official evidence, not proof. Proof can come only from the movies themselves or straight from the mouths/interviews of the film's makers.

Non-canon book, Werebs. It's not valid proof at ALL. Someone can use this to support their theory of Scar and Zira being mates, yes. But this is a non-canon book that just says they were mates. That's not a fact at all.

Thats YOUR definition of proof. The sites were MADE by disney officials, and they work for me. Don't think it's legit? Call or email the creators. Tha numbers at the bottom of the page.
