I've been taking pictures since a young age, at least 6 years of age. (Now 17) I've had practice, lol Anyway, I came up with the idea of sharing some of my favorite photos I've taken. I'll start with the ones I took tonight. 7/27/11 ---------------------------------------------- Do NOT use my photos without my permission. These photos are not edited, but have only been resized to 800x600. ---------------------------------------------- Camera: Nikon coolpix Model: S6000 Megapixels:14 Camera Kodak (I personally loved this camera, I think it performed better than my Nikon. Sadly, this Kodak stopped working for no reason)Model:M1093 Megapixels:10 Share your best photos, I would love to see them! (=

Oh wow. These photos are amazingly done o_o seriously... you should put a copyright and sell them as prints. xD They're that awesome! I have a folder where I keep some photos... I have yet to share the others I've taken. Here's the folder, though: http://hunterthewolf001.deviantart.com/gallery/30880517

I've been shooting for probably six years now, I use a Canon Powershot A540, that's about four years old, and been all over the US with me. Cougar Mountain Tiger Mountain Summit This one is kind of cool. The camera is NOT in Black and White mode. XD Flaming Geyser State Park In my backyard Mt. Rainier (tallest point in Washington state) Elliott Bay, Seattle, taken from the family boat, looking East at the Olympic Mountains. I have bunches more, but I'm not going to load the thread down. XD Enjoy!

Great photos as well, Alpine. Just as a note, I may be going to Kentucky (Mammoth caves is where we plan to go) soon. Not sure when, were having a little bit of van trouble. My step grandpa took matters into his own hands and is going to pay for the repairs. Point is, I'll have more pictures to post. I have more here. http://mightybalto.deviantart.com/galle ... 4?offset=0

Good stuff, gang! And an excellent topic idea, Mighty! Here are a few of my own (just a sampling...there are plenty more where this came from if anyone shows any interest). These were all taken merely with a simple, relatively cheap Nikon Coolpix camera: 1. From when I was an American Civil War living historian, this is a picture of a friend of mine, in the rank of a Union first sergeant, in the battle line during the 130th Anniversary of the Battle of the Wilderness, held back in 1994 in Orange County, Virginia. Believe it or not, this was a bright, sunny day! (The "fog" is battle smoke from thousands of muskets and several cannon..."the fog of war") 2. From one of my visits to Busch Gardens Williamsburg (Virginia), one of the best theme parks in the United States, which is themed on various European countries. There is a wildlife preserve in the park as well, and this is run by naturalist and animal expert Jack Hanna. One part presents the story of gray wolves, and has a presentation with some of those wonderful animals. During a semi-private tour, several of us managed to do enough of a passing job at howling that we got this particular wolf to respond! What an amazing experience! I'm not actually that close to the wolf...I simply managed to zoom in enough to get this detail. 3. A shot of some fireworks on the Fourth of July (American Independence Day) 4. A net of Christmas lights in front of my home (sitting on a hedge), covered in a layer of snow. Interesting effect it created! 5. A tree in my neighborhood last winter, covered in a fresh layer of snow 6. A "gumball" from another tree that same winter, covered in snow 7. Berries on a tree in the local dog park 8. Speaking of the local dog park, this is "Buck", a big, young male Saint Bernard who is quite a popular dog at the park...being a goofball here with a small-ish metal water bowl. He and his owner (who hosts a metal radio show online) are both pretty cool! 9.-11. Mushrooms from the perspective of the leprechaun (heh heh ) 12. Macro on a dragonfly, who alighted on a tree branch for me. lol He allowed me to get surprisingly close, but when I got a little TOO interested, he flew up and at me to give a bit of a warning, and then alighted back on the branch with no harm done. It doesn't do the fellow justice - he was a brilliant shade of blue! (It was a VERY bright, sunny weekend day) More coming! (Will post back-to-back if the mods are okay with that)

And to continue...(sorry for the large size on a few of these...thought I had the size nailed down right...) 13. A pier and cabana off the beach just north of Puerto Morelos, Mexico...on the Mexican Riviera (just south of Cancun). This pier belongs to the Ceiba Del Mar Spa Resort. 14. Early morning, the crack of dawn over the Atlantic Ocean, from the beach of Avon, North Carolina (where my family vacations every year) 15. Another sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean, from the beach of Avon, NC (and in true color, if you can believe that!) 16. Early morning sun through the pilings of the Avon, NC fishing pier, looking out over the Atlantic Ocean 17. Once again, from when I was an American Civil War living historian, this is a Union infantry column marching into position for a battle scenario, at the Cedar Creek National Battlefield Park just outside of Middletown, Virginia (in the Shenandoah Valley). This would have been sometime around 2005 or so. (That's me, third from left, the officer carrying the sword you can barely see...heh. I was a major in charge of one wing of our regiment at the time. Rank has its privileges. ). 18. More Civil War living history - this a shot of my old unit (taken by me from a distance), the 8th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry (we represented an actual volunteer infantry unit of the time), firing "by company" (all the men firing together by command). This was taken outside of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania at a re-enactment there back in 1997. 19. Taken in the backyard of my parents' home, this is a tree frog who happened to climb up on the exterior wall of the house and caught my attention. Heh. I of course let him go after this picture...unharmed. 20. "Darkness crept back into the forests of the world. Rumor grew of a shadow in the East, whispers of a nameless fear..." (from the movie, and book, The Fellowship of the Ring) 21. A spectacular sunset caught from the local dog park one evening 22. Sunset over the Pamlico Sound, near Avon, North Carolina (looking west towards the mainland, which is not visible here, from the barrier island on which Avon and other towns sit)
