In the movie, Balto was part wolf. The film was just BASED on a true story. Based means that it's partially true, but not COMPLETELY true. In real life, Balto was a Siberian Husky, although he is incorrectly said to be an Alaskan Malamute.

No, Balto was never part wolf. He was purely Siberian Husky. I suggest you read the article posted above.
