Since Herd projects that are not Spirit related now have to be on the forums, I’m moving my herds over from Spirit source.
The Sunset Herd
The Sunset Herd is named after their birthing grounds; the Sunset Valley. Throughout the year, from late spring to early winter, the herd roams the plains. But as soon as the weather begins to turn and frost forms on the ground the herd travels up to the Sunset Valley, where they spend the winter in relative warmth and safety. In addition to a safe haven in the winter, the Valley is an excellent place to foal, as the young are protected and secure there. As a result, the herd only leaves the Valley in late spring, when all the foals have been born and are a couple of weeks old.Therefore would like to start a herd for horses that no other herd wants.
Mares: There is no limit to the number of mares he will take in. All are welcome
Geldings: The Sunset Herd is now accepting any and all wild/feral geldings into the herd ^^
Foals: Orphaned, abandoned or unwanted, even if they don’t have a mother to look after them, they’re all welcome in the herd. Don’t worry little ones; Therefore will find a kindly mare to adopt you.
Stallions: For now, only 2 other stallions will be accepted into the herd, as Protectors. These stallions may have 2 mares of their own each, whom they may breed with. They can find these mares for themselves, or ask for a mare within the herd, if they’ve fallen for each other.
The Rules of the Sunset Herd:• We will be kind and considerate to all equines
• We will protect the Sunset Herd at all costs
• We will do everything within our power to assist other equines in need of help, as long as assisting does not endanger our own herd
• We will not discriminate. All breeds, genders, ages, colouring and confirmations are welcome in the Sunset Herd.
• We will obey and respect the Leaders of the herd
Rules for Applying to the Sunset Herd:All Horses:• If your character is already in a herd, must have the permission of the herd leader to leave in order to join the Sunset Herd. Therefore has no desire to steal horses from existing herds, unless they are very unhappy with their current herd.
• All colours, breeds and heights are welcome in the Sunset Herd
• All mares are welcome to join, even if they cannot have foals of their own
• All geldings and orphaned, abandoned or unwanted foals are welcome to join
• Please no evil or mean characters. There are other herds here that would suit those sorts of characters much better
• Characters that have had a difficult past, suffered some degree of hardship in their life, or have not yet found a herd to take them in are much more likely to be accepted, and will be given priority.
• Any mare that is too old to breed/barren may be asked to adopt an orphaned or abandoned foal and raise it as her own.
• Don’t need to write out a huge bio for your character here, just fill in the form and make sure your character has a profile page on your homepage.
• You can use linearts but credit the original artist
• If your mare has been accepted into the herd, and you’d like her to have a foal with Therefore, you don’t need to ask. Just let me know when you’ve made it and I’ll add it to the list of his foals.
Stallions Only:• May have mares of their own already, but cannot have more than 2 mares of their own whilst they are in the Sunset Herd.
• May leave the herd at any time to form their own herd, but must let Therefore know first.
• A maximum of 2 stallions will be allowed to join Therefore’s herd at any time.
• May only breed with their own mares
• NOT first come first served. Therefore will be strict about the stallions joining his herd, and will choose them carefully. If no stallions apply, he may invite some to.
• Protector Stallions can have 3 mares of their own in the herd, which they can find themself or choose from among the mares already in the herd/applying to be in the herd, if they particularly like any of them. If they're in/applying to be in the herd, the stallion must ask for them first, but it'll only be on very rare occasions that Therefore will say no ^^
These rules may be updated at any time, normally because I’ve forgotten something, but, in essence, this is a herd for downtrodden horses that just need a herd to protect them and get them back on their feet again.
