I meant entering contests. How is that to be implemented?

Well I could add an option to do this, there's already the option to "add the contest into my favorites" but the difference is that the names are not displayed and that someone could put a contest into his favorites without actually wanting to send an entry.

I'm thinking it would better to keep this for less-serious contests.

I have a feeling that the main site's contest section would soon be flooded with mate contests, as is this section and it would make it look messy, anyway, sure you've thought it all through.

He does have a point...but I'm not going to argue about it...

yess yes i like this idea idea you are right all the contests are goin to be on mate and stuff but som peopl ant to mak real seriouse and different contests. i agree with you buddeh to keep this contest section open only for less seriouse contets

This is going to make the site full with mate contests and pups things you should keep this open for that and make the one on the site for serious project ones instead of keeping only the one on the contest and fulling the site with lots of mate contests and would probably make it slower than it already is (trust me the site is super slow and its not my comp)anyway this is a bad idea people wont like contests anymore when its on the real site than it is on here So i agree with Whitewolf UK

nice way to put it kolton.ohh and you are right the site is way to slow and sometimes wont show up for me it says page error. to stop te error i must restart my comp again.

I hate this Idea. Im banned for 3 days and i want to make contests. I cant go on the site contests but i can acess the fourms. And also Why can we make a contest for 6 months? Many people wont like it on the site Steet. If i were you i woudent make this decision. Its only going to be mate contests and other usless things. Keep this section open for mate contests. Site contests for projects and more serious stuff.This will make everyone happy and it will be much eaiser for everyone.

Ok. But now tell me : how do you categorize a project or contest as "serious"? Which criterions do you base your opinion on to say it?
Manual selection can't work. That's what I used to do, but as I have less and less time, it's not possible anymore. And choosing people to do it won't work either : just look at the fan news editors, 1 month later most are already not doing their job.
So it has to be automatic. For now, the "favorites" system has always worked nicely, even though not perfect.
I will probably add a choice between categories of projects and contests later. So, this could give the possibility to "filter" the "mate" contests.
The best thing you could do to help me on this, would be to make an exhaustive list of possible categories for projects and contests. For now there are only two : "Balto" (or Lion king) and "Fan character"



Err...I don't understand that one. You need to register to be able to post on the forums, and both the site and the forums share the same account...So where's the difference?

I've improved the contest section on the site. Now you can officially "join" a contest (or project), so that you will be listed on the contest page itself. You will have to join a contest before you can send entries.
Just try it and see...

its better but i still dont understand the point in moving this topic now if we are on adoption and we want to flick back onto the form to check if someone replyed on contest we cant whe have to look on all our joined contest to see replys. mybe if you added a symbol on the new contest page to show there is a new entry or comment then it would be esier.
