Animation Source Forums

Maybe you have noticed, but I have added a contests section on the site.
The reason for this is to keep all the contests into the same place and make a better management for them than what you can on the forums. (besides, not all contests should be Balto & fanart related!)
So, I will ask you to post your contests on the site instead :

This is why you will be able to reply to the current topics in this forum section, but not start new ones.

This section will be removed on 1st June 2008, so that everyone can make the transition.

EDIT : I have changed my mind. As I didn't work enough on the current contest section to entirely replace the forum-based one, I will re-open this section. If there are duplicates, then too bad. I will try to reorganize this better later.

OK, steet! Good to know! Now i figured out why there where a contest "topic" on the main Balto Source.

This isn't such a great idea. People can enter easily for contests on the forums. How can they on the site? Where will they link their pictures? A lot of people here don't know how to use Imageshack, Photobucket etc. So what will happen with them?

Besides, we have all always been doing contests on the forums! Can't we just keep it? I mean...we can still have contests on the site and contests on the Forums at the same time am I wrong?! It's not going to hurt anyone! Please reply to this steet!!!

i dont see any point in moving it it just seems weired i meen coming on the form for adoptions then going back onto the site for the contests

i dont like the idea at all ... trying to create a contest on the new area on the site is hard and people carnt reply with pictures and ect...

yup, how more i think about it, the idea sounds a little weird(not to be mean) If the contest topic dissapears, it will be kinda hard, i wih it could stay.

Well...perhaps if steet comes back to this topic and reads all of this before the deadline he will understand and stop this before it's too late... I hope.

Well I was expecting this kind of reactions.
But, I don't think it's anything more complex to send a contest to the site. Have you only tried it? If you did, you would know that you can send pictures and send them directly on a project/contest (the "Send my entry to this project" link) Uploading on imageshack & co is only required for big files, but it was the same thing on the forums.
I had to do a specific page for the contests, because I don't see why the contests should be restricted to Balto fanarts. Otherwise, I would have to make a section everywhere on the forums.

Also, another reason is that I have no control on what is done on the forums, as I didn't create them, which is not the same with the site. For example, I will be able to display the contests created by someone on his profile, things like that (even though it's not done yet)

So...in other words...your still going to delete the contests on the forums?

Not now, in 6 months. It should leave you more than enough time to make the transition, don't you think?
Another example of the things you're now able to do, is to join a project so that you can access it immediately ("Add the project into my favorites")

so for 6 months we cant make a contest it might just be my computer but it wont let me post a contest
