CONTEST #1;;
Since many, if not all, of Toska's teammates have been inavtive or have left the site with their creators, I've decided to re-open the empty slots on Toska's sled team. Keep in mind that this will be in Toska's history and other cool jazz. Sue me for not mentioning this earlier, but DAKOTAWEREWOLF is also helping with judging the characters!

CONTEST #2;;
Before I start writing Gunner's life story, I need help filling in a few spots. WHat I'm really lookin' for is a few fighting dogs, maybe 3-4, that Gunner will interact with when she visits the pit. I may make one myself to where Gunner kills said individual, or you can fill in the blank with your own character. Whatever floats your boat. All characters in this category will be male. c:

The Prizes;;
- Obviously, team drawings
- Each character chosen as a member of the sled team will be featured in a future fanfic that will be written by yours truely and DakotaWereWolf.

Guidelines;;
- The characters are yours to keep.
- Please keep in mind that the team will consist of dogs bred for sledding, which means only huskies, malamutes, chinooks, and toehr sledding dogs are allowed.
- Use unique names please!
- Preferably characters that have already been created and have a character page.
- Also, once characters have been officially added to the sled team, be sure to make your character's page on the main site for obvious reasons.

A BIT ABOUT SLEDDING;; (thanks go to Mello (Whisper) < 3)
Musher: Mushers can be any age, sex or race. They relay commands to the team and sometimes run behind the sled to speed it along.

Sled: Older sleds are made out of wood, but modern ones are built of space-age materials like Kevlar and titanium.

Wheel Dogs: Wheel dogs are placed directly ahead of the sled and tend to be the strongest dogs on the team.

Team Dogs: Team dogs provide the "horsepower" of the team and help turn the sled.

Swing Dogs: Swing dogs follow the lead dogs. They help set the pace and turn the sled around corners.

Lead Dogs: One or two lead dogs are at the head of each team. They respond to the musher's commands, find and follow the trail, and set the pace of the team.

Rules;;
- No fursonas.
- No wolf hybrids.
- An even balance between male and female dogs (for Toska's sled team/ male only for Gunner)
- Try to be realistic. Use realistic markings, to some extent, and real fur colors.
- Be creative.
- No whining or complaining.
- Renders aren't perffered, but they're okay to use. Lineart is fine, but I'd perfer if you'd draw the picture yourself.
- Take your time on your entry or entries. So far there is no deadline so there shouldn't be any reason for you to feel rushed.
- You can enter as many entries as you want.
- Your characters cannot be related to any of the original Balto characters.
- I will place each character accordingly to their position on the team.

Name:Qannik [means snowflake in Inuit]
Age: 3 years
Gender: Female

Likes: Snow, running, food, relaxing at boiler room, being helpful
Dislikes: Snowstorm, being yelled at, liar
Fears: Bigger dogs with bad attitude

Personality: Kind, loyal, peaceful, usually quiet but she always speak her mind if she feels uncomfortable with something or someone

How they feel about Toska: Qannik likes to hang out with her. She really interested with how Toska lead. Qannik feels that Toska and her could be a good friends.
Ideal Position: Team 2

Extra Info: (such as crushes, how they met Toska, etc.) Qannik was originally born in Russia but all of her siblings were shipped to Nome. Qannik was quickly bought by a man as a gift for his son, who always want to be a musher. Qannik easily adapt with her new home and family. 2 years later Qannik was trained to be a sled dog. Qannik was very good at it. Qannik joined a team but her team mates often tease her for not being a purebred (she's a Goberian). Qannik soon became timid of them, not just because they're all bigger but because they're mean too. Her master realized about this and decided to take Qannik out, now he's looking for a good team that will suit Qannik.

Qannik met Toska when she was still in training. Qannik was amazed with Toska's skill to be a leader. Qannik couraging herself to talk to Toska. At first, Qannik was afraid that she will be mean just like her old teammates. Qannik approached her and said hi. Toska replied hi to her. They chat a little then Toska left because she have more training to do. Qannik ran to her house and was very excited when her master was planning to put her in same team with Toska.

Age: around 2 1/2
Gender: Male
Breed: Akita Inu x Labrador Retreiver

Likes: Relaxing after work, food, running, speed, racing, Toska (ssshhh), meeting new people(or in his case, dogs), winning races, Snow, Alaska, ice, playing around after work.
Dislikes: Slow things, wolves, working days and nights on and on, hot things, losing to people, death.

Fears: Death, Wolves, Toska finding out he likes her

Personality: A great guy, full of humor, he is very nice and is usually one to openly welcome any newcomers. Kapik is a loveable boy, who is somewhat hyper and energetic, but is calm off work. Kapik is daring sometimes, but serious when racing and during work. He knows when to be quiet, and when not to.

How they feel about Toska: He feels that Toska is a good, strong leader, and he wouldn't have picked a different leader. He is honered to run behind her, and treats her like the leader she is. He secretly crushes on her, but is too shy to admit it.
Ideal Position: Team 1, or swing (Really any position is fine)

Kapik met Toska one day while walking and taking to her father. Kapik had seen Balto, and wanted to say Hi, and to say he thought that Balto was a true hero, and that he was a great dog. Then Toska came along looking for her father, and Kapik saw her. He said hi, hoping she wouldn't be too mean to him, and she replied hi back. Soon, Kapik's owner died, from lukemia, and Kapik was sold to Toska's owner. Kapik was thriled to get on Toska's team, and knew that maybe one day she would like him back. He hopes that anyways...

Name: Truman
Age: 3-4 years old
Gender: male

Likes: pulling a sled, being told that he did a good job, working in a team, not-so-much-heavy sleds, being respected and not insulted, doing some good actions, being a gentlemen, running to train for a race.
Dislikes: fools and ignorant dogs that make fun of him, snow storms, icy grounds, hot days, heavy sleds to pull, to work with someone very annoying (such as lazy dogs), being challenged for some stupid reason by someone that immature, being distracted when he's doing something important.
Fears: loosing control, doing a bad choice on a very important argument that would change his life, being abandoned after a fall.

Personality: a wise and loyal dog, he would rather die himself than his master, he's also very social and never has prejudices on another canine, unless he does hate that dog, but that's very rare, he lives for his job as a sled dog and likes having a sane laugh, he is a gentlemen, not rude, not violent, never complain and doesn't reply to a challenge or if someone makes fun of him for some reason, he is the kind of guy that never loses control. Is the perfect parthner for a race of another job that requires a team work and often gets compliments for his attitude.

How they feel about Toska: Truman respects her, he knows she has a higher position in the team for being the leader and so he shows her the right attentions that a leader deserves, he tries to do his best to not be yelled and he's sure that he and her team can cooperate during the run.
Ideal Position: either a team dog or wheel dog is fine for him.

Extra Info: (such as crushes, how they met Toska, etc.) born in a breeding centre for Malamutes, his parents told him from the first moment what he was probably going to be trained, to be a sled dog. Truman always tried to do his best because he knew that the sledding was his life, the reason of his birth and sooner he entered a team, as wheel dog, since malamutes are good in that position. Nothing like some of his team mates, when Truman's not working, he likes spending time with his master and his family, being a good pet and a good racer. The lead dog of the team respects his because of his noble personality and Truman is grateful to his for this reason. During a race, a snow storm approached them and they got lost, the lead dog and the other wheel dog fell down a cliff, after doing a wrong move on an icy cliff. The team eventually arrived in a town and survived but since the leader and another dog where dead, the team didn't exist anymore and Truman had to search another team.

His master tried for many weeks to find a new work for Truman but most of the mushers that he met where young, with a team full of young dogs with no experience and where not exately what he was searching. Luckily he met Toska's team and got the news that they were searching some new members so he caught the opportunity since Toska looked like a leader with experience and not one that fools around instead of running. He introduced himself to Toska that seemed to like the way he talked and Truman got a spot in the team.

I know in his page it said that he runs ina team with Brandon (Balto's son) but that idea didn't work well and so I decided to take him out that team...I was waiting an occasion to give him a better story, that's why I modified a bit his history and I joined xD

Wooooooow, I wish I had entered earlier before saske. xD My own entry is a sable malamute...no matter though.

What I really wanted to ask was whether I could or could not post a character without a character sheet? The character has existed for a loooong time, not had much a use for, and gone through many a design change, and thus is the reason I have never posted the page. However, I'd really like to give the character an identity.

Likes: getting pampered though, she isn't fond of being restricted or held back, her son, though she seldom sees him ever since she was rented out to Toska's owner(?), most people,. Shes not very judgmental of others(not any longer anyways). She also likes to feel useful...and does enjoy her food...
Dislikes: Feeling inferior, or as if she fails to please others.
Fears: Blood. She can't stand the sight of it.
Personality:
When she was younger she was quite full of herself, a spoiled dog of proud origins[parents were purebred by expert breeders who, yes, were native to France]. She was always strutting about, trying to get attention; not attention from males, however. She thought herself much good, too smart too go and 'settle', and all thought she would never find a mate. This didn't phase Jacqueline, however, as she was quite content with herself, alone.
For this reason it surprised everyone when she was found to be pregnant. After her pups(I should say pup; only one survived) were born when she was 5 years old, she was found to have become quite 'simmered down'. While she completely dropped her judgmental and shallow ways in favor of rationality, sense, and calmness, she still remained sassy and only slightly full of herself. Her pride flares only rarely, her sharp tongue lashes out only on occasion. Most agree though: the changes are quite an improvement. **this change will be explained more once I post her sheet. Its mainly got to do with her mate.

How they feel about Toska: Honestly, due to her boyish tendencies, Jacqueline initially thought her to be a male. Her old pride prevented her from submitting to the un-lady like Toska as a subordinate at first, but as she became used to the idea and to Toska's personality, she accepted her as a leader. She only wishes to please her now, but Jacqueline still tends to roll her eyes at Toska once in a while, but seldom openly crosses her. There is usually no need to.

Ideal Position: Wheel dog. She's very sturdy.

Extra Info: (such as crushes, how they met Toska, etc.) She is rather fluffy, but she's also older, and *ahem* a bit on the heavy side. Jacqueline was a prospect for sledders looking to re-stock their teams. She was offered a permanent position on Toska's team however, and was rented out to her owner for that purpose.

But yes, you can enter a character who doesn't have a character page since you have good reason. :] But then again I only put that rule up there so I can find more information about the character than what the bio form I made asks for.

Name: Ivan

Breed: Canadian Eskimo Dog

Age: 18 dog years (a little over one human year)

Siblings: Alfred (c) Darkcloud

Personality: Ivan is very sweet and kind, he loves to play and have fun with his brother Alfred. Ivan is abit of a goof ball and tends to take life alittle less seriosuly then most would but he is serious when he wants to be. Ivan is indeed one of the most weirdest dogs people would ever meet. He loves to wrestle and play pranks on his brother and they love to terrorize the town of nome which is why im guessing there so close.

Crush: Clover, Toska

Mate: Again looking for someone to love

History: Ivan and Alfred were the only ones born in there litter, his mother died due to a defect during there birth leaving there father to take full custody. Ivan and Alfred mostly spent there time together and always caused trouble for there father and even there fathers master. Sadly when the pups reached eight weeks they were just to much to handle for the couple and had to put them up for adoption. Ivan and Alfred thinking they'd be seperated were devistated at the news and didn't know what to do.

Just there luck though on the day of the adoption they were adopted by a couple who had twin girls who were happy to take Ivan and Alfred off there hands. Ivan was happy with a family and he was with his brother Alfred how much greater could his new life be.

How he feels about Toska: He finds her Cofindence attractive even though he's a goofy guy he is a wonderful friend and partner. Ivan enjoys being around Toska.

Ideal position: swing dog

Other: He met Toska when there masters had met. Ivan was with his masters father. He met Toska on one of his dailey walks and they became friends and she exsplained that she needed more members for her team and Ivan was glad to offer his services but he needed to prove himself first.

Although he is a very interesting character, my only consern is how he'd handle the Alaskan climate. XD With no fur he will freeze to death, and I have never known a musher putting a sweater/jacket on a sleddog. D: I love the character, but I just don't think he fits into this contest category.
