Want a good and free picture editing program?

I have used gimb a little bit before. it is good program. i would use it if i didn't already have a paid program. I use paint shop pro photo x2. good program. and cheaper than photoshop, and i am more familiar with it

and another good free program (maybe not as good as gimp, not sure) is Paint.Net. the URL is (easy one) http://www.paint.net/

i have had it before and used it, but i have uses PSP the most.

Do you need internet to use it though? Cause if I put it on the family computer my mother will be extremely mad...

Not if you download GIMP. Once it's on your computer, it works like MS Paint(no internet required to open/use it).

Gimp is not a virus, and Macs don't don't get viruses, not very easily anyway xD. Most viruses are in a .exe file, which is a Windows file. Mac uses a .dmg file.

But don't worry, I have Gimp and it gave me no viruses. Just be careful where you download it though.

Gimp shouldn't give your computer a virus. I downloaded it and it didn't give my PC one. Just download Gimp from the link Steet has given. However, make sure you download it properly though.

It might be different for a different computer service or whatever you use. But really it shouldn't, not that I've experienced anyway. If you download it safely and properly, you should have no problems.

As Mighty said, it has a link to the official Gimp site. So that should be fine. You shouldn't have any problems with that one.

I downloaded Paint.Net not long ago (simply because some of the programs use different effects and it would be nice to have a range of different editing programs.

But, is the download link the "full version" of Paint.Net? Simply because after viewing a few tutorials I found that there was a "Missing" a few sectios editing options after the "Stylize" option in the "Effects" section.

It also (and probably likely) will be missing other editing options. So, is this simply because the free download does not include the full version of Paint.Net (including ALL the editing options)? If so, does anyone know where I can download the FULL version of Paint.net with all of these editing effects?

If you have this complete version and downloaded it for free, could you please tell me where you downloaded it from?
