Personality: 

a happy-go-lucky bear, with his heads on the clouds, often seen as a never serious guy because he likes joking and he really enjoys to have a good laugh but when the moment to stop laughing and act seriously arrives, he knows how to act and he's very mature about it; he takes his job seriously and everybody knows that you can count on him if you have a problem of any kind; he's very curious and likes to know new things to increase his knowledge.

 

History: 

Genen was born and always lived at the Salmon Run, with the passion of exploring but not brave enough to live his birth place to go into the unknown. He had a twin brother, Bo, who looked nothing like him and was a womanizer. Once he was old enough to live on his own, he found a cave on the way for the Mountain where the Lights touch the ground and decided to make it his home. He decided to develop the interest he had since when he was a cub about curing herbes to help other bears and, after a visit to the Mountain and a meeting with Tanana, he found out he could comunicate with the Spirits. Once he returned to the Salmon Run, he found out his brother calmed down with girl and was actually engaged with one, Nookie. Genen was happy for Bo and, by "marrying" he and Nookie, he became what the humans would call "Shaman" and so, Genen understood the meaning of his name. After Kenai and Nita became bears, he helped both (with Koda's help too, of course) to learn how to be a bear. And when Tug and Khalan's adopted daughter Yoki seemed to share his own interests he decided to make her his apprentice, of course, with her parents permission. When Yoki and her sister Dakota decided to start a journey to discover their truw origins, he was the first one with whom Yoki talked to. He didn't stop her, since he knew the feeling of wanting to know the truth.

 

Relation to Brother Bear:

a background bear from the first Brother Bear, had met Tanana. Brother of Bo, the male lover bear and mentor of Tug's adopted daughter.
