By running through obstacles, defeating villains, collecting fruit and completing tasks, you can earn the Minion Of The Year Award! By default, players start out running as Dave, but can upgrade to other costumes throughout the game to help increase their overall score. Players can also unlock power-ups by purchasing them with bananas they've collected, which helps players collect more bananas to improve their score. The game also has tokens that can be used to purchase costumes, revive yourself from a fall or crash, upgrade power-ups, purchase bananas and open Golden Prize Pods. You can get these token by purchasing them, sharing your score on Facebook, or by completing all the tasks on a level.

• Banana Splitter - Gives you the double amount of bananas
• Freeze Ray - Smash through obstacles
• Mega Minion - Walk over top of other minions
• Gru's Rocket - Ride on a rocket to collect bananas
• Banana Vacuum - Picks up all of the bananas that are the closet to you.
