He's the wisest of the Kai brothers and recognizes who Ben is after fighting with member's of Ou pack upon first meeting. Akatora and his brothers were saved from a killer thanks to Ben. He breaks up the fight with the Ou pack and tells Kurotora and Chutora that this is the same Ben. Akatora vows to give his life to the Ou pack along with his brothers. The Kai brother's know of Moss and lead the Ou pack to the Misty mountains in hopes of gaining new soldiers which is successful but not without a misconception and fight.
     In Shikoku Akatora and his brothers go off and try to get Musashi the fighting dog to join the pack, but is attacked. Musashi lets Akatora live and later on saves him from Bill and Sniper's pack. Musashi was sparked by Akatora's bravery to challenge a champion fighting dog. Later on at the final battle, Akatora sacrifices himself to blind Akakabuto.
