GB encounters Weed for the first time when he's hunting for a bird and Weed barges in. He gives the bird to Weed because Weed says his mother is ill and he needs the bird for her. Nero bosses GB around and his friend Sasuke. He's forced to hunt a farmer's ducks and tricks Sasuke to doing the work. When Sasuke gets attacked by Banken (the guard dog) Weed comes to save him. Weed's spirit inspires GB to become a better dog so GB joins the fight. Smith comes in and scares Banken away. In the past Smith saved GB from a vehicle accident; that's how he lost his leg. After Weed's mom, Sakura, dies the next day Weed, Smith and GB head off to Ou. GB gives Weed his name and becomes his God father.

Like Smith in Ginga Nagareboshi Gin, GB serves as the comic relief in Ginga Densetsu Weed. At first he is cowardly, but with time he develops and becomes a braver character. He may be goofy, but he's definitely loyal to Weed and the Ou dogs. 

When GB and Weed run after Mel and encounter Blue, he talks big about being a commander of Ou but is easily knocked around by Blue's men. He needs to get more training in him. GB tries to fight Kaibutsu but gets pushed away by Kaibutsu's massive paws. He and Mel rush to find the dogs that fell down the cliff with Kaibutsu. Luckily, all of them survived. When Rocket kidnaps Weed, GB runs after him because he has great endurance but the Borzoi is way too fast for him. Jerome is able to save Weed though.

Weed jumps onto a ledge on a cliff to save GB after he gets blown away by strong blizzard winds. Rocket pulls both GB and Weed up and nearly falls but Jerome saves Rocket.

In the manga, it tells that GB used to have a master who committed suicide from depression issues and ran after the ambulance that took his master away. Smith saaved him at the last second from getting hit by a car.
