Well, what did you expect? Frozen won two Oscars tonight: Best Animated Film and Best Song, "Let It Go." This marks the first time Disney has won an award in the Best Animated Film category, the first time it has won an Oscar since 1999's Tarzan (which also won Best Song), and the first time it has won two awards in the same year since 1995's Pocahontas.

The wins in both categories were no real surprise, but still, it had some heavy competition. The wins are a huge mark for Disney, which has struggled to keep its place as a frontrunner in the animation industry since Pixar films began to come out. Now, for the first time in forever, it is back, and people are craving for more. Combined with its $1 billion-plus gross, Frozen is a large indication that Disney films are coming back for another Golden Age.

On the flip side, there was only one major surprise of the night. (Even the presenter was surprised.) The winner of Best Animated Short Film did NOT go to Get a Horse!, as many expected. Instead, it went to French film Mr. Hublot. In a year when most categories were predictable (or at the very least, able to be narrowed down to two films), this one category was a real shock. Still, while Disney did not sweep the Oscars tonight, they have proven themselves with Frozen. Their next film, Big Hero 6, is due out this November.

Remember, Frozen is still in theaters worldwide, and is now available for digital download. It will come out on DVD and Blu-ray later this month, so if you need one more reason to go and see it, hopefully this is it. All these factors combined are strong indications that not only is this a great animated film, it's a great film, period.
