Allowed:
- Fanarts about the movie you did by yourself
They have to represent an official character, your fan characters or both at the same time. You have to tag all the characters that are drawn on the image. The first drawing has to feature an official character from the movie and the offcial to fan character ratio to fanart gallery is 1:5.
A fanart can be drawn in your own style or can reproduce an official image from the movie. But do not mistake it with a render in the images category which is a retraced image from the movie.
- Fanarts related to the movie you did by yourself
Fanarts related to the movie you did by yourself.
It is allowed to draw your own fan characters, but these must at least have a strong link with the movie and they have to be activated on the site ("soon to be made" characters are not an exception). The drawings will only be posted if you've made a drawing of an official character before.
Warning : If you want to fan children of an official character, do not tag the parents if they don't appear on the image. Only characters that appear on the drawing can be tagged.
-Traditional art (drawings on a sheet of paper) scanned or took with a digital camera
The moderators have the right to refuse any drawing badly sent. Drawings have to be rotated to the right position and cropped out of all unecessary space.
- Digital fanarts (drawn by computer) colored with graphic tablet or mouse
These drawings have to be yours! Linearts colored by you but which belong to another artist must be sent in the images section (with the copyright to its respective owner/creator).
- Drawings copied out of captures from the movie
Reminder : As mentioned, these drawings have to be made by you and musn't be renders retraced from images from the movie.
- Linearts done by youself
It is allowed to post digital lines of your drawings – you can allow them to be colored by other members (free linearts) or post them without having to allow anyone to use them.
- Drawings with a character from another movie are allowed. On condition that a official character from the concerned movie is also on the drawing (crossover)
You can represent a meeting between a Disney character and a Dreamworks character (for example). On condition that one of the official characters of Animation Source is on the drawing.
-Sculptures, plushies, sewing, modelling, cooking...
Fanarts are not only drawings. You can also send us your plushies, sculptures or something you've cooked. But remember they have to follow the other site rules.
NOT ALLOWED
-Stolen drawings.
It's strictly forbidden to upload drawings that have been made by other artists. The mods have a really good knowledge of the artists on the web and may send you a warning (or a ban) if you keep uploading stolen work.
Even if the drawing was made for you and you have permission to upload it, the fanart gallery on Animation Source has to feature only YOUR creations.
- Drawings copied or redrawn from drawings of other people.
Also considered as stolen. If you are a beginner, just reproduce pics from the official movie and not fanarts – Artists don't like to see their drawings retraced and claimed to belong to someone else. It's not allowed to send one even if you credit the original artist.
- Screenshots (edited or not)
It's not allowed to post unedited screenshots in any fan gallery. Screenshot montages are considered fan images, but not fanarts. Be careful not mistake the category while sending your images and drawings. A fan image uses screenshots from the movie, while fan arts are completely made by yourself. .jpg)
- Mix of screenshots and drawings
If you want to make a background on your drawings, it is suggested to do it by yourself or to ask for help – But it is not allowed to use screenshots from the movie. A fanart must be entirely done by yourself.
- Pictures (from digital camera)
Pictures from digital camera are not allowed, even if they are captured by yourself. The only exception is if you've decided to send a picture of your art craft.
- Colored linearts (From you or from another member).
You are allowed to post free linearts and to color your drawings, but it's not allowed to post a colored lineart in the fanart section, even if it's your. Your adoptions, for example, must be posted in the fan images section (Unless you specifically make a drawing for that). The same linearts can not be colored several times in your gallery.
- Fanarts of other fandoms and unrelated drawings
If you post a drawing which is not related to the source you post it in, it will be considered off-topic, unless you make a crossover. It is not allowed to post random animal artwork, original characters or fanarts for another movie, video game, etc.
- Gore and sexual material
One of the holy rule of Animation Source is to keep in mind we want to have good relations between members. We are open at any age – do not abuse with sexual material or gore in your fanarts. The moderators have the right to deactivate any artwork they find offensive and insulting..jpg)
- Drawings without any character tagged
Fanarts – like every creation in the Fans category – must necessarily tag a character that is featured on the image. It's easier for the organisation and for members to find your creation.
- Drawings where tagged character(s) is(are) not in the drawing
It's really important to tag characters on the drawing. The will of being famous is good, but it's not a reason to add more characters than your drawing have. It won't be allowed.
Other IMPORTANT information :
- The first fanart you make must be related with at least one official character of the movie.
- Adoptions musn't feature any character when it's posted.
- Linearts musn't feature any character either.
- 1 out of 5 drawings must represent an official character of the movie.
- 1 out of 10 drawings can be an adoption.
