Allowed

-Modified images from the movie.
You are allowed to mix several images, add text, effects, etc. to create a fan image to illustrate a scene or to give a message. Games like "spot the differences" or crossword are allowed too as long as an official character is in it. Just keep in mind that only text or a simple texture is not enough to make an image.
- Good renders.
Retrace or colored lineart from the movie to give it your own style or to make a fan character is also allowed on condition that the image is well made. A render done by a beginner doesn't have to be perfect but it can't be too badly made (too many white pixels for instance). The realisation has to be applied to be accepted on Animation Source. More more informations, take a look at this subject -> /board/post1496846.html![]()
-Deskop backgrounds, avatars, icons, signatures.
First, it is important to remind you that ALL the images used have to be from the movie concerned by the site (films, series, books) The only exception to this rule are crossovers. A modified fanart won't be, in any way, allowed (This also applies for everything in the fan images section). The only exception to this rule is crossovers where a fan character, from the concerned site, appears. Beware, if you want to make an avatar, it better has to be square if you want to use it on the site. Animations are allowed on condition that they do not represent a risk for the viewers (epilepsy, gore... etc.) and they do not come from a site like Blingee (which doesn't require any work to be done)
-Games.
You are allowed to create mini-games (and board games) like crossword, game of the 7 differences, etc. in an image, as long as an official character appears in it.
-Linearts and blank renders.
Free linearts and blank renders are allowed in the fan images section. They can come from other sites on the condition that the creator and the concerned site are mentioned in your commentary or in the image. You may also give a link to the original image you've used. But do NOT use linearts and blank renders that are not free !
- Renders from other movies
-Renders from other movies than the concerned site.
It is not allowed to use, for example, a wolf from the Jungle Book on Balto Source. You can only redraw lines from the concerned movie, or add your own lines on it, but you can not, in any case, redraw any canin from any movie that is not in the concerned site.

-Crossovers.
Crossovers between several movies are allowed, but it doesn't mean that everything is permitted. As long as an official character from the sites is present, you can add an additional character which is not present on the sites of Animation Source (For example, Angel and Bolt). If your crossover includes 2 characters from Animation Source (but from different movies). You are allowed to send your image on both sites. Crossovers are an exception for character tag rule. You have to specify only the characters that are on the site post your image on. However, it would be appreciated if you mention the other characters in the description.
Not allowed

-Renders badly colored or badly polished
Any render badly retraced or badly colored leaving a bunch of white/uncolored pixels on the image will be deacivated. Put an effort to your images! More information about bad renders go here> /board/post1496846.html
- Images badly cut-out
To montage your images, you have to cut them. It is recommended to go along the character's lines or to use a fading eraser to succeed. If you don't, the results will certainly have too much pixels and will count as badly made, like the example above. Any image made in a rush and that doesn't give a good result will be deactivated.
- Unedited screenshots from the movie
Posting a screenshot from the movie is just useless – where is the fan creation in there ? A fan image ask you a bit of modification.
- Renders from other movies
It is not allowed to use, for example, a wolf from the Jungle Book on Balto Source. You can not use renders from any movie other than concerned site. You can use hand-drawn linearts in your images instead.
- Fanarts (any drawing)
Fanarts are, of course, not allowed in the fan images section. Be careful not mistake the category while sending your images and drawings. A fan image uses screenshots from the movie, while fan arts are completely made by yourself. .jpg)
- Mix of screenshots and drawings
The fan image section only includes modified images from the movie, your fan arts are not welcome in there, even if they use an image from the movie as a support.
-Images created by other artists.
It is strictly forbidden to send stolen images from other artists or colored renders without permission on your gallery. Everything has to be created on your own or be a credited blank render/free lineart. Any stolen image will be punished consequently. (warning or ban)
Linearts or blank renders without credits
Even if linearts or blank renders are allowed, it's also obligatory to respect the original creator! It's really important to mention the artist who grant you his/her work and, if possible, give us the link to the original work. Original artist must be meditioned by name! "Lineart (c) to whoever made it/respectful owner/I don't know" is not allowed.
-Images without any character tagged
Images – like every creation in the Fans category – must necessarily tag a character that is featured on the image. It's easier for the organisation and for members to find your creation.
For more information and exceptions see here => /spirit/en/comments/Character_Tag_Rules/3472.html
- Images where tagged character(s) is(are) not in the image
It's really important to tag characters on the image. The will of being famous is good, but it's not a reason to add more characters than your image have. It won't be allowed.
- Pictures (from digital camera)
Pictures from digital camera are not allowed, even if they are captured by yourself. So it's forbidden in any case.
- Gore and sexual material
One of the holy rule of Animation Source is to keep in mind we want to have good relations between members. We are open at any age – do not abuse with sexual material or gore in your images. The moderators have the right to deactivate any work they find offensive and insulting.
Other IMPORTANT information :
-The first image you send must be in relation with at least one official character from the concerned movie.
-Adoptions musn't feature characters and are limited at 1 image out of 10.
-Blank renders musn't feature any character.
-1 image out of 5 must represent an offical character of the movie.
