Hello!
On October 7, 2019, Dreamworks announced that there is a feature film of Spirit: Riding Free (based on the series) in development. Scheduled for a theatrical release on May 14, 2021, it will be produced by Dreamworks Animation and released by Universal Pictures. The film will be produced on a lower budget and be made by a different animation studio outside of DreamWorks.
The general idea of the story is Spirit's herd has been captured and the girls and their horses go on a mission to rescue them.
What are your thoughts on there being a movie?
Meanwhile the newest series has being introducing new characters, including a horse called Mystery, a group of riders known as the "BUDS" and many more . . .

But whether it would work well or not having original characters like "The Colonel" in this new movie is the real question - as the clothing style, history, etc in the series are different to the original movie
