Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant may have bombed at box office on it’s 1999 release, but it has since been hailed by critics and audiences as an underrated animated classic, earning itself nine Annie Award wins and a strong cult following. Fans will be delighted to hear that the movie will be returning to selected theatres this year on September 30 and October 4.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Fathom Events have announced they will release a high-definition remastered “Signature Edition” of the The Iron Giant in a limited number of theatres in the United States, which will also include two brand-new scenes. The two screening times will happen at 7:00 pm on September 30, and 12:00 pm on October 4.
John Rubey, the CEO of Fathom Events said that “The Iron Giant is meant to be seen and heard in movie theaters and this is a great chance for fans new and old to enjoy this classic, remastered with new scenes.” The “Signature Edition” will also be released at digital retailers shortly after the theatrical re-release.

This is a very good news! And other 2D animated features from that era
suffered the same fate, unfortunately. Because all eyes were turned to
CGI films. They deserve a second chance! |

I doubt it will be in my area, but if it will be, I'm SO going to see
it. 8D |

It will probably make me cry, because I saw it for the first time with my Dad and it will be the first time watching it now that he's gone. But I'll go anyways of course, and cry great tears of nostalgia
