skeleton on her nose.

"Well, when your a street dog, those tings are delicasies," Fang said as he flicked the skeleton off of Annette's nose.

"Hey, look what I found!" Danielle slobbered. She had a half full bottle of fanta in her jaws. She tipped it and fanta slipped out and made a puddle on the ground. Danielle started to drink it.

"Dani, don't you'll get- too late," Annette frowned. Danielle was jumping all over the place.

"How do we make her stop?" Skip asked.

"We just have to wait until it stops. Fizzy drinks make her hyper," Collette answered.

"HEY! WHAT'S THAT RACKET, OUT THERE?!" the resturaunt owner said as he walked through the exit door.

"Make a break for it!" Fang ordered. He started running.

"But, what about Dani?" Rose asked. Fang skidded and turned around. The owner was trying to catch the hyper puppy as she sprung off the walls and off the bins. Fang leapt in front of the owner and caught Danielle in his jaws. Then he turned again and headed back the way they came. Rose slowed down so the owner might chase her, thinking that Fang might come and save her. But Fang was so busy sprinting away, that Rose just ran with them.

"What happened?" Danielle said, once she'd snapped out of her hyperness.

"You just dozed off," Skip said.

"Oh. Okay," Danielle said. "And why's my neck got slobber all over it?" she asked.

"You fell in the water," Afghanna replied.

"Okay," Danielle said again.

"Okay, guys, I'm still hungry!" Afghanna sulked.

"We're all still hungry, Affy," Rose said.

"Don't call me Affy!" Afghanna said for the umpteenth time.

"Hey, guys, there's a forest just over that bridge ahead," Scamp announced.

"So, why are you helping us?" Annette asked Fang.

"I've had a change of heart and thought that I'd just come along and protect you house dogs," Fang lied. That was enough to convince the young spaniel. She went back to her sisters, who were deep in conversation with Rose. The small group of dogs went over the bridge and were soon in the forest.

"You can't beat the sound of the birds chirping," Collette sighed. Afghanna rolled her eyes.

"House pets," she muttered under her breath.

"Excuse me?" Annette scowled.

"I said mouse nets," Afghanna lied. Annette grinned and went back to her chat with Rose and her sisters.

"I'm bored," Skip said.

"How come you're always bored?" Fang questioned the young lab.

"Well, if you were being persuaded to get these guys to be street dogs, you'd be bored too," Skip growled. Scamp walked up to them.

"Why don't we play a game?" Scamp said.

"What games do you house dogs actually play?" Skip asked.

"Well, fetch, pull ropes, chew toys,"

"Get real!" Skip yelled.

"Okay, easy, I'll start the game. I spy with my little eye, something begining with-"

"TREES!" Fang and Skip shouted together.

Chapter eight: The missed stop

Angel was relieved that her newest cell-mate had been sold, already. She waited for the dog-catcher to stop and get some petrol before she started digging again. "Psst," Came a vocie. Boris was whispering for her to listen. "Hey, you, Angel, right?" he asked.

"That's me," Angel replied.

"What places do you recongnise around here?"

"Loads. Why?" Angel questioned.

"It's really easy to get lost around these parts of town, so you need to know which way to go," Boris said.

"Well, I know Snob hill, but we're way past that. I know the junkyard-"

"The junkyard?" boris echoed.

"Yes,"

"The junkyard's not far from here. You just have to wait a while, then, at the next petrol stop, you get off. Because the junkyard is just over the road from there," Boris instructed.

"Okay! I'll get digging, and then wait for the next stop! Thanks again!" Angel cheered.

"You're welcome. Now get digging, or you might miss it," Boris said. Angel started clawing the truck. She managed to scratch some of it, away. But, since they were in a car, it was harder, She cariied on scratching for a while, but she eventually got tired and collapsed to the floor.

Angel yawned and woke up about an hour later. A small terrier puppy was next to her. She'd gotten a new cell-mate, while she was asleep. She suddenly heard two dogs talking to eachother. "We should have just gone past Snoot Lane. Angel reconginsed Snoot Lane. A place where more rich people lived. But it was also, about half a mile away from the junkyard.

"Snoot Lane?" Angel gasped.

"Whoa! no reason to be so excited," One of the two dogs said.

"What happened  to the junkyard?" Angel asked.

"We drove past it, some time ago," the other one answered.

"NO! Okay. Can you tell me how long it'll take the truck to get to Pep Street?" Angel asked. Pep Street was a place that even more rich people lived!

"Well. We should be passing it in about a minute," The first lion replied.

"NO!" Angel screamed. She started clawing the rough car floor, like she'd never clawed before.

"We've just passed it," The second dog said.

"NO!" Angel shouted again. "Okay. I have to get back. Do you know where Normal Road is?" Angel asked. Normal road was a place where the fairly poor people lived.

"It'll take us about four hours to get there," The first dog said.

"I have to wait how long?" Angel gasped.

"You heard us. Four hours," the second dog said.

"Okay," Angel sulked. She sat in the far Left corner and curled up. The new terrier pup curled up next to her and yawned, then went to sleep. Angel thought it was really cute, and it made her miss Scamp and the others a lot. "I wish I was home," Angel sighed.

Chapter nine: A long night

"I look into the sky

It always makes me sigh

I listen to the breeze

Whistling through the trees!" Scamp sung.

"Enough with the trees!" Skip yelled.

"Yeah, Scamp, you should refresh that kazoo you call a voice," Annette said.

"Hey! My voice isn't that bad," Scamp growled. Everyone stopped and stared at Scamp. "I guess I stand corrected."

"I'm so tired!" Danielle complained.

"Yeah, Fang, it must be 3:30 in the morning by now," Rose yawned.

"Okay, ladies, chillax. We'll stop for a rest in an hour or so," Fang grinned.

"WHAT!" Everyone yelled. Afghanna padded up to Fang.

"Are you insane? You can't keep them going that long. You'll give the game away!" she hissed in one of his long, golden ears.

"Whoa! They aren't that bad. Look at 'em," he said. The group of dogs looked like they were going to collapse at any second.

"Even your eyes look redder than usual!" Afghanna snarled.

"Fine. We'll stop for at least half an hour," Fang concluded. Afghanna sighed and you could just make out her mouthing the words 'thank you'.

"You can rest for a while, now!" Fang announced. Everyone collapsed to the floor.

"At last. I thought I'd never sit down again!" Danielle sighed as she rolled over and over on the grass.

"Thanks, Fang!" Scamp called as he rested his head on a pile of leaves.

"Can we go to sleep?" Collette asked.

"Fine. I guess it's getting a little late," Fang said. Scamp eyed him for a few seconds. "Okay. A lot late," he corrected.

"I'm not sleeping in the dirt!" Annette yelled.

"Me, neither!" Collette agreed.

"I guess, I don't want to," Danielle always agreed with everything her sisters said.

"Well, rest your head on Skip, then," Fang said cheekily.

"With the flees?" Collette gasped.

"I do not have fleas!" Skip shouted. He started scratching his left ear. Fang couldn't help but chuckle.

"Better yet, I don't want you furballs on my back all night."

"The dirt's not that bad. It's good for the conflection-thing- did I say that right?" Rose asked.

"Race you to the dirt pile!" Collette challenged. Fang stared open mouthed at Rose.

"I'm a smart dog," Rose smiled. Then she placed her head on a large rock and went to sleep.

"You must admit, Fang. She's pretty sweet," Afghanna said. Fang hesitated for a minute, then he answered.

"Yeah. I guess she is. A little. Well, anyway, Night, Affy," Fang said. Then he lowered his head to the ground and went to sleep. Afghanna smiled and went over to a tree. She lay down at the foot of it and grinned.

"Don't call me Affy," she laughed to herself. Then she went to sleep like everyone else.

Chapter ten: Ambush

Scamp was dreaming about Angel and about how she will react when he came to save her. He was interupted by the sound of howling. "Rise and shine house pets. We're losing daylight,"

"There isn't any daylight!" Annette yawned. It was still dark and the stars were still shining.

"Afghanna! Wake up!" Rose hissed in her friends ear.

"No! I don't wanna
