The cub at the end of The Lion King. Fluffy. Kopa. Tanabi. Chaka. Shani. There are SO many things you can call the cub at the end of The Lion King. OK, here's what I believe:

1. The cub at the end of The Lion King, is a boy.

2. The cub's name could have been Kopa OR Chaka.

3. It is most likely that it is Chaka, because Chaka is Kiara's brother's original name.

4. Chaka was born BEFORE Kiara.

5. Zira tryed to kill Kopa, but didn't succede and Kopa ran away.

6. This is why Zira was exciled.

7. Kopa and Vitani met years later.

WHAT ALSO COULD HAVE HAPPENED:

1. The cub was a girl, and blended into TLK2, so that's why she wasen't seen.

2. The cub could have died in an accident.

3. The could could have died from disease.

4. Someone else killed the cub.

5. The cub joined Zira's pride.

6. The cub was just busy at the time when TLK2 was being shot.

7. The cub ran away.

WHAT I DO NOT THINK HAPPENED:

1. The cub was carried off to live with Zira.

2. The cub was Kiara all along.

3. The cub was Nuka.

4. The cub was Vitani.

5. The cub was Nuka.

6. The cub was born AFTER Kiara's Pride.

I DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT YOU, I'M JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE THINKS THE SAME, OR HAS THEORIES OF THEIR OWN. Thank you.

Kopa and the cub look the same, so why aren't they the same?

I think I can not agree. The chick at the end of the movie is the official name of Fluffy. umm... Chaka and Shani where the names of Kovu and Kiara's cubs. btw the makers of TLK call him Fluffy his true name is Kopa. He was killed by Zira for loving Vitani. after Kopa was gone she turned bad.

I believe the cub is Kopa, I always have ever since I knew about Kopa, before that I thought it was Kiara, but once I heard about Kopa, I could see the differences between the two cubs. I think after Scar died Simba gave Zira a second chance but killed his cub Kopa so Zira was exiled. That is why Zazu referres to the outsiders backstabbing and murderous.

@ Kopaisreal1: Yes, you are looking too far into this. They are both Kiara because all the sequel's makers did was RE-DESIGN that very cub from the end of the first film and remade its ceremony. They took the cub and its ceremony and made it into their own vision.

Kopa --> With TLK 1 with no Simba's Pride, the cub can be either gender and named any name. But with TLK 1 and Simba's Pride... *shrugs* then the cub is Kiara. That's it. There's no mystery and no 'Who is it' question.

I'm a bit confused by your question as well, Kopa. It is a cub, and as El said, with TLK 1 and 2, the cub is Kiara. Without Simba's Pride, the cub is whoever anyone wants it to be since there's no name or gender.

I really don't get what's your problem. WHAT it is? It is a cub. It's that simple. WHO it is? TLK + TLK2:SP = the said cub is the girl Kiara. TLK alone, with TLK2:SP completely ignored, it is whoever the heck a viewer wants it to be as it has no official identity nor gender.

@ Kopaisreal1: Depends on how many movies you're talking about. If talking about the original movie alone and of nothing else, it is just "Fluffy": a cub with no official real name nor gender. As in, it is any fan's original character and nothing more or less. But if taking about the original movie and the sequel, it is Kiara as that's what the sequel's production has literally made it and through that made it impossible to be turned into another cub. That is if you want the sequel's story to make sense.

Yeah, they switched the design and ceremony details, but nothing else. As nothing else existed in the movie universe. There was no gender nor name for the cub. The cub just was there as a random, undefined entity until they decided what to make of it.

@ Kopaisreal1: No, I'm saying it's the same univers - just the outsiode appearence was changed. That's what Kovu's animator said:"it starts off where the first film left us" and "you THINK it's a king but it's a queen". As in he didn't say it was a king but now it's a queen (which would be alternate universe), but just that we THINK it's a king but it turned out to be a queen (which is the original universe but just not how we thought it was.)

@ Kopaisreal1: They are two different versions of the same presentation, that's all. Kovu's animator has said "It starts off where the first film left us with a twist - you THINK it's a king but it's a queen!" + they use Fluffy for Kiara in the film's official trailer. Hence, two different versions of one presentation. Hence, retroactive continuity/remake. @ Brown Wolf: I agree the sequel isn't as great as the original film but I like it well enough and so do many others. It seems opinions on the sequel's quality differ from hate to love and something in between them and I'm one of the opinion group in between. But just because there are haters, doesn't mean that the film is a failure. There are always haters for everything. And I think one loses all credibility is whines about how bad and disgraceful and so on the sequel film is to the original, but still use it in one's fanfiction.

@El Chivato --> "obviously they wanted to do a retroactive continuity" Well, if they wanted to do that, they failed. Not only that, they mocked the greatness of the first film. Maybe that wasn't theier intention, but, look what Simba's Pride turned out to be. And sometimes, doing a sequel, it's best to go with the ORIGINAL plan and not change things at the last minute. That's where most sequels fall. "Follow your instincts, your gut" as the saying goes. And the animators, the writers, the people who made Simba's Pride simply did not.
