My theory about Kovu's father and all Lion King plot holes

MY theory is that after Scar took over the Pridelands, he attempted to find a queen that would get him the leftover devotion of the Pride-landers . Scar decide to chose his fanatical follower, Zira.

Zira and Scar had to cubs, the first born being unnamed (by the movie creators), and a second, Nuka. However the first born was next inline for the throne, and any of his offspring, and so on. Nuka would only have a shot if the first born died before mating.

But Scar had more troubles, Zira was out of control, and in the view of the Pride-landers (but mostly the Hyenas) she was a terrible queen. When Scar tried to take Nala as his next queen, she ran away, and in her place, Sarafina became his queen, and quite reluctantly had a cub named Vitani, technically making Nala and Vitani half sisters.

The unnamed cub mated with an unnamed lioness and had Kovu, the second in line according to Scar. Nuka resented Kovu as a result.

Sarafina might have felt so depressed and guilty for having a cub with Scar, she ran away. Sarabi later went looking for her- which explains both of their absences in the second film. With Sarafina gone, Vitani had no mother, and Zira took her in as a result. Because she was such a young age, Vitani believed Zira was her birth mother.

With Simba's return, Scar was killed, though Zira, and about eight other lionesses were out hunting at the time. Upon their return, the discovered that Simba had ascended to the throne. Zira convinced the other lionesses of Simba`s treachery. They ganged up and killed Simba and Nala`s first cub, Kopa.

In shock and outrage, Simba banished Zira, but not before an altercation with Scar's unnamed cub. (probably along the lines of who would be next in line, or if Scar's word had any meaning). Simba ended up killing Scar's son. Simba then decided that no one related to Scar could be trusted.

He banished Kovu, Nuka, and Vitani into the care of Zira and the other co-conspirators.

Simba and Nala then had a second cub, Kiara. Still fearful of the evil of the outsiders, Simba became a paranoid parent.

I've put a lot of thought into this theory, so hope it helps resolve the confusion.

Be sure to add to my theory if you wish, I am open to new ideas.

Maybe it was a lone male that just disapeared afterwards? Maybe Ni from 'Nala's Dare'? It' s possible...

1) Tojo's fur is light orange, not brown at all! It's like Adult Simbas. Malka's fur is the colour of Kiaras. Neither of them are even close to Kovu's colour.

2) Skyler127's theory is all well and good, but two things. Firstly, Kopa was held up at the very end of The lion king 1, after Scar had died, so Scar could not have killed him. It is clearely Kopa being held up and not Kiara. Also, I think Simba if Simba and Nala had Kopa before returning to face Scar at pride rock, wouldn't they have like been carrying him or something? It's a bit harsh to leave him alone in the wild. At the very least they would have mentioned him.

Kovu's father

My theory is that when Scar killed mufassa and Simba ran away Scar had a cub with Sarabi called Rovias and he was banished to the outlands with Scar.

Scar met Zira and they had Nuka and Vitani and Rovias met a unkown lioness and had Kovu but Kovu's mother disapeared.
Meanwhile Simba and Nala had had 2 cubs of their own Kopa and Kiara!

Kopa went exploring in the outlands and met Vitani but Scar didn't want Vitani and Kopa to be friends so he killed Kopa and then Simba was so angry that he killed Scar.
He also killed Rovias when he attacked Simba in an atempt to protect Scar.

Kovu was now an orphan so Zira raised him as her own and as he was only a few weeks old he didn't know anything of his real parents.

Simba was really protective of Kiara but she ended up meeting Kovu in the outlands and they feel in loved which bought the 2 prides together.

One day Kovu found out about his real parents and he left the pridelands to go looking for his real mother.

But thats another story....

Tojo's fur color is nothing Similar to Kovu. His fur color is gold, just like Simba, and his father is Mufasa, just like Simba, and his eyes are blue. There's no way he could've fathered Kovu or Vitani.

Chumvi is Kovu's father no doubt. Of course two red eyed mate should have a red eyed offspring but I doubt Uru, Scar's mother has red eyes like everybody thinks. I say her eyes and her mother's eyes are blue. Chumvi's mane is brown and Scar was conniving so he killed off all of Mufasa's remaining cubs. Meaning Tojo died.

Malka wasn't even part of the pride at this time. The hyenas wouldv'e ripped him up for sure and why would Zira want him if she was so loyal to Scar?

i always hough kovus dad was chumvi, i mean, HOW CAN TWO LIONS LOOK SO ALIKE????!!! I love chumvi i think hes cute.

I think that Kovu's real dad is Scar even though the script says he isn't.
But, if I had to choose one of those males, I'd say Tojo. He could be also Vitani's dad (blue eyes, pink/brown nose, big hairtuft). If Nuka's father wasn't Scar, his dark fur and black mane would have come from Zira's parent(s). So, Kovu's dark fur could have come from Zira's parent(s), too.

for Sora1 why would Zira cheat on scar like that if she was insanely
in love with him???

I have read in several sources that Scar was MEANT to be
Kovu's father, until Disney realized it would then be
promoting incest. So they made some hasty references to Scar
not being his father and then didn't change the obviously
Scar-based character design at all.

I read a story that someone who mae Lion King 2 wrote There
is a lion named Uvoko that is his dad Scar killed Uvoko and
Kovu was born from a lioness of the pridelands Zira killed
her before she got exild and in lion king Nuka says; Kovu
Kovu Kovu Scar wasn't even his father he just took him in..
You see that makes since!

I think it was nether of them. My theory is that Zira mated
with a rouge lion. So thats how Kovu was made.

Tojo would be good but maybe it is Malka... I dunno

I think Tojo is Kovu's father. He could have betrayed Simba
causing Mufasa to exile him. Years later he found Zira. She
Already had Nuka. Then Vitani was born so was Kovu. Scar
was in a rage. He chasedTojo. Tojo ran into a jungle where
he met Rafiki. Rafiki told him to go back and fight. He did.
But in stead of Scar in a rage he found him dead with Zira
weeping over him. "Zira. I'm still here." Said Tojo. Later
they had Monopoply and Scrabble who ran away. Soon after
that Tojo died. And that is my theroy.

I think Kovu was found by Zira.His parents are unknown.
(probably died in the outlands) Zira and Scar made him
believe that they're his parents,cause Kovu was just a few
weeks old,but later (after Zira and her family got exiled)
Nuka told Kovu that Scar is nt his real father.So Zira had
to explain to him that Scar had adopted him.That is also a
reason of Zira not liking Nuka.

Humm, I think Kovu's father is meant to be a mystery. That
doesn't mean, however, that none of this characters isn't
kovu's fathers.

HMM, I agree with Nala~Girl that I always thought Scar was
Kovu's father.

Those comics and The Lion King Six New Adventures are
official. Maybe not canonical, maybe not made by Disney, but
they are official.

Um, I always thought Scar was his father.
And...I
think some teenagers made these...not official Disney.
