Personality: Very strict and proper, Altaria takes no nonsense. If she plans something out, then everything has to be EXACTLY as it was planned out, no deviations or changes at all. She is a perfectionist and everything has to be good-looking to her standards, or otherwise she will flip out. She prefers to do things on her own, and does not like to be helped out. Despite her having a heart of stone, she deeply loves Zazu and wants Adelar to have a good life being the next majordomo.

History: Altaria was discovered by Zazu in the Pridelands a day after Simba's great fight with Scar. She had been caught up in the fire that plagued the lands, and her wing was singed. As a result she could not keep airbourne and fell to the ground. Even though Zazu was quick to offer her help, but she declined it, insisting that she could help herself out, and get back in the skies. Zazu left, but when he returned with Simba, Altaria still did not recover her wings. Help was still pressed onto her, but Altaria was having none of that until, finally in her weak state, said 'okay'.

She was taken to Rafiki, who tended to her injured wing. She lost many feathers, and suffered a severe burn, and Rafiki tried to make the pain as little as possible. Her wing could not be saved, and Altaria was now limited to the ground for the rest of her life.

With this, Simba offered her that she could stay with them on Pride Rock as long as she'd like. Again Altaria declined, and it took a while before she finally gave in, and let them take her home. She was very nervous being around so many lions, but her nervousness always subsided with her fiery nature whenever one of the lionesses confronted her. She became more of a Scrappy than Zazu had been.

Happy that there was now another hornbill living there, Zazu tried to befriend Altaria. She seemed so much like him in personality, and he didn't want to go totally insane with being the majordomo. Altaria was reluctant to like him, and for awhile the two butted heads. But eventually she softened up to him, and reluctantly admitted that she enjoyed Zazu's company. The two soon became mates, and an egg was found in the small nest Zazu had built for them. The egg hatched into their son, whom they named Adelar.

With Adelar being in line for taking up the position as majordomo, the two new parents tried to teach him as much as possible. Zazu taught him how to be a majordomo while Altaria was very strict on how he should act, and how to be very gentleman-like. However, Adelar was just not that interested in the job, which often makes Altaria mad at how improper her son is being.
