Personality: Amber sticks with her family through thick and thin. She always tries her best and works hard at everything. She tries to be brave and strong like her father. Amber often does what she can to outdo her sister. She loves running and is an excellent hunter. While, she can give some sass, Amber will follow her rules as set by her father. She is independent but also cares for her family.

History: Amber was one of Khal and Nyla’s two daughters. She took on the traits of her father, mostly, and she looked up to him since a very young age. Amber’s sister, Siara, and her were always a bit different and, as sisters, they would argue.

As a cub, Amber often worried about her image. She wanted to be treated like the brave and strong lion, much like her father. Everyone looked up to Khal and Amber wanted others to do the same to her. Since a young age, she showed excellent skills at hunting. She worked hard and refused to take no for an answer. Amber would get into trouble about hanging around the wrong crowd, but she always followed her father’s rules. She never let anyone push her around and could mouth off sometimes. Yet, Amber was always wanting to by her father’s side. On patrols, she would follow him and often got caught. Amber believed everything good was only brought on through hard work, much like her mother’s belief. While, Siara would believe that if your heart was pure, the Fates would give you everything needed. Her ideas matched what Khal was taught through life. Amber found her sister having a crush on an older lion named Dogo. Amber wasn’t one for romance. She found it strange and a waste of time. She preferred to be single and free than to drool over boys. Siara was convinced she was in love, though, so Amber teased her whenever she got the chance to. Their parents did not make much out of Siara’s crush on Dogo, at first.

Time went on. Amber trained often and was already a skilled hunter at her teenage years. She was pretty, but hated being compared to her sister. While, her sister was described as gorgeous and beautiful, Amber was said to be headstrong and pretty. Siara was one with all the luck but Amber refused to let that get her down. After all, she was happy that her sister was happy. Dogo, who was from another pride, visited again. This time, as an adult and Siara just fell for him instantly. Amber did not pay any attention to her sister’s clear crush on Dogo. Instead, she did her own thing. Amber explored the Pride Lands, hunted, and hung around with her best friend, Aeron the mischievous cheeta.

Amber’s idea of the future wasn’t always clear. She wasn’t sure what she was supposed to do but she believed that there was a great importance for her. When her parents talked of her future, they predicted she’d end up marrying a strong male and having many children if she was not chosen to be queen.  That was Amber’s worst fear. She did not want to end up a housewife for the rest of her life, living the same day over and over again. She decided she had to fight for her chance to become queen. Amber did everything to impress her family. She wanted to excel at everything that way there was no other choice. But, Siara always seemed to have the better luck. So, when Amber found out Siara was dating Dogo, an adult male, she wanted to tell their father but Siara convinced her otherwise. Amber didn’t like the thought of Siara disrespecting their father’s rule but seeing Siara beg for her chance to just see the boy changed her mind.

Later on, Dogo left. He claimed that he did not want to ruin Siara’s future and would return when she was an adult, and then their love would be legal. Siara was very depressed. Amber did not understand this, however. She was never in love. A few boys had crushes on her but it never meant anything to her. Still, Amber did everything in her power to try and cheer her sister up.

When Siara and Amber turned the adult age, Dogo did return. Siara and Dogo were united once more, and Amber had never seen her sister so happy. Dogo and Siara managed to convince Khal to let them be together, even Amber was with them. Dogo first had to prove he was suitable mate for Siara, but soon Khal welcomed him into the family. Most in the pride agreed to the idea, while some still did not like the amount of age difference between the two. Now, Siara and Amber were both adults. Khal had decided who would become the queen of the Pride Lands. In the end, it was Siara who won. She was peaceful, smart, and with Dogo as her mate she’d provide a suitable heir, unlike Amber who had no interest in any boy in the Pride Lands. It was disappointing, but she congratulated her sister.

Finding the Pride Lands not to be the place of her choice, Amber decided to go off and travel on her own. She saw just about anything and enjoyed the new, exotic places. She’d visit her sister once a year, but mostly loved the life of freedom.
