History

Asura was born the younger twin alongside his brother Indra. Both were planned to fight for the inheritance of their father's pride, but not until their father felt it was time to retire. However, as time grew on tensions between the brothers rose. Asura was the calm and intellectual brother which heavily contrasted to Indra's hotheaded temper and brute strength. Their conflict began to escalate when they were teens.

Indra took a romantic interest in Sarafina, despite the fact that Asura and Sarafina had a closer friendship. Indra saw Sarafina as a prize, since according to Indra she was the most beautiful elligable female in the pride. Sarafina was indifferent to Indra's advances on her, leading him to be more forceful towards her. Sarafina expresses her disgust of Indra to Asura, who uses his ingenuity to get Indra to back off of Sarafina.

Asura expresses to Sarafina that he expects to leave the pride soon, knowing that if he fought Indra, he would undoubtably lose. Sarafina tells Asura that she doesn't want Asura to leave and tells Asura she will go with him. Asura tells Sarafina that she has a responsability to bear the next generation of children in the pride. Sarafina tells Asura that she wants Asura to be the next king, admitting that she has feelings for Asura. Asura doubts that he can win against Indra, but promises to try for Sarafina's sake.

During Asura's fight with Indra, Asura is knocked around by Indra's brute strength and finds it impossible to win. Asura leave the pride, not knowing Sarafina carries his child. Under Indra's reign, the pride becomes weak due to Indra's leadership faults. Many lionesses leave the pride, including Sarafina and her daughter Nala, who are taken in by Mufasa's pride. 

Asura roams the wilds as a rogue lion. He doesn't stay in one place for long, nor does he long for any place to call home. He eventually returns to his old home to check up on Sarafina, only to find the territory abandoned. Asura then begins a lifetime searching for his lost love.
