Personality: Chaka is smart but very mischievous when he was younger. He could be arrogant and boastful, and even teased his youngest sister Jia. However, he ultimately grew out of this (when he met his future mate Penda), losing some of his arrogance and becoming somewhat responsible and very protective of his sisters. He has a short temper and is prone to sulking if things don't go his way.

History: Chaka was the first born of Kiara and Kovu's cubs. Of all the cubs he was the best candidate for king especially when it was discovered that Jia was blind. So Kovu and Simba made him heir to the throne and presented him alongside his siblings.

As Chaka grew into a cub he began to exhibit less than kingly tendencies, such as being openly arrogant and boastful, mocking Kala for her pacifist nature and playing tricks on Jia which could put her in serious danger. One day he led her a short way from Priderock and left her, Kovu and Kiara were furious with him when Jia finally returned with her new companion Choga.

 When Chaka reached his teenage years he and his sibings met a white lioness around their age named Penda, she was a rogue and Chaka was instantly smitten with her. Penda, however, wanted nothing to do with him and hate his presence. She soon left the Pridelands and Chaka became depressed by her absence.

When Chaka was a teenager, his aunt Vitani and three cubs arrived in the Pridelands, he liked the two females, Dafira and Shani, but he and Enzi got off on the wrong foot and Chaka never liked him after that.

When Chaka reached adulthood, Kovu began to teach him all he knew about being king, Chaka had matured and grown out of his arrogant ways and was a fast learner.

Chaka began to get increasingly worried when Jia began to take a romantic intrest in Enzi, this wasn't helped by the fact he didn't like him in the first place, so when another lion named Zemar  joined the Pridelanders and also took an intrest in Jia, he tried his best to steer his sister in Zemar's direction but this didn't work. Then, one day, Zemar came to Chaka telling him that he saw Enzi harassing Jia and even worse, beating her, this was too much for Chaka and he demanded that Enzi pay for hurting his sister.

Chaka and Zemar ambushed Enzi a couple of days later and beat him mercilessly, Chaka wanted to make sure he never hurt Jia again. Unfortunately, Enzi was brought back to Priderock by his sister Dafira and Jia was horrified to find out what Chaka had done, even though Chaka explained why he had done it. Thankfully for all, Kovu stepped in and quickly concluded that the whole situation was Zemar's fault, even though the young lion wasn't banished for his actions, the pride were always wary of him after that.

Kovu and Kiara eventually stepped down as King and Queen and Chaka took the throne with his sisters as his advisors.

One day he found a lioness being attacked by hyenas and quickly stepped in to save her. He noticed that her dusty fur was actually very light, she had white fur. He didn't make the connection until she tentitively asked if his name was Chaka, it was Penda. The two soon fell in love and Penda took the position as Chaka's queen.

Soon, after a particularly good breeding season, Chaka became the father to five healthy cubs. Soon, however, he realised he would have to decide which one would follow in his footsteps as the ruler of the Pridelands. Three of his cubs, Jelani, Jyotika and Mohan, all made it clear they had no intrest in ruling which left Nuala and Aricin. Whilst both had their strong points, he could never decide which of them would make the better ruler for the pride.

Eventually, after Nuala and Aricin came to blows, Chaka chose Nuala as his heir.
