Name: Naanda (bxr)
Age: Varies
Gender: Female
Parents: Scar and Nala
Siblings: Many halves, full siblings open
Crush/mate: Open
Cubs: None yet
Personality: Naanda is stubborn and spoilt. She sees the world as her enemy most of the time but usually feels unloved and like she doesn't belong. Sometimes she wonders about the point in her existance but then her sadness quickly turns to anger and she yells at someone because of it. Naanda mainly feels unloved because her parents were none-lovers and although Nala is kind to her and tries to give her everything she wants Scar is cruel to her and so Naanda turned out to be a little selfish. As she grows up Naanda matures a little and when Simba returned Naanda relaxed and turned into a better lioness
Likes: Being alone, people avoiding her, being right, winning, Adia, watching the stars
Dislikes: Her parents, being unloved, losing, crouds, hyenas
History: Scar forced Nala to mate with him, hoping that she would give him a suitable heir. Nala had Naanda, and Scar got annoyed having all of these unsuitable heirs and wanted Naanda dead. When he attacked her, Adia leapt on Scar and fought him, coming out victorious. Naanda was always grateful to Adia and at first spent time with her. But Scar began to beat her for being around her half-sister half-aunt, so Naanda stopped visiting her, and spoke to her only when she was around which was not often. Nala was kind to her and gave Naanda everything she wanted, but Naanda hated her mother for not standing up to Scar and letting him treat her like dirt. Naanda often sat on her own, wondering about the past, and why she had to live. However, Naanda's sadness never lasted for long, as it quickly turned to anger and Naanda would turn on the nearest lion to make herself feel better. But when it was Adia she yelled at, Adia would walk up to her, hug Naanda and tell her that everything would be alright, that Naanda's future was bright and cheerful, which mande Naanda feel better.
But Naanda doubted this when she was nine months old. Scar would not listen when Sarabi spoke to him, and Adia often kept close to Naanda. When Naanda woke up and her mother was gone, Naanda assumed that Nala had run away and left Naanda, and Adia was there to comfort her. Naanda felt abandoned and snapped at every lion. But she kept quiet around Scar and his family, for she would be killed.
When Naanda was ten months old, she saw Nala creep back into the lands. Naanda ran up to Nala and yelled at her for leaving when they needed her. Adia came to calm her down and spoke with Nala for a while. She then took Naanda to a safe place where she would not be found. But Naanda hated being on her own to be protected. So she creeped out and decided to try and help, her mother was bound to be on Scar's side.
When she saw that Nala wasn't on Scar's side, she tried to sneak onto Scar's side but he pushed her away. Naanda landed in front of Nala and she looked into her mother's eyes. "Fight with us, my daughter." Nala whispered. "But, mom, I was going to fight against you." Naanda whimpered. "Hush, my darling, I still love you, I will forgive you." Nala muttered. A golden lion with a red mane looked at Naanda, who looked back. "Your always welcome on the side that will turn the pridelands back to what they should be, you will have a great life if you join us and we win." He told her. Naanda saw Adia on Nala's side and scrambled over to Adia. The fight broke out, and Naanda was determined to fight for what was right. As a small cub, she could creep under lions, trip them up and scratch or bite them without them knowing. Adia fought by her side the whole time, and the two made a good team. Finally the hyenas ran off, and Simba came to tell them that Scar was dead, the hyenas had killed him. Naanda was glad that she was finally free, yet a wave of sadness hit her. Cruel and evil or not, Scar was her father and deep down, Naanda loved him. Even though he hated her the thought of her father dead made her terribly upset.
After Simba had claimed his place as king, Adia let Naanda and Simba talk about it, and Simba gently explained that he gave Scar a chance, but he wouldn't take it. Naanda nodded but lay in the cave for days, missing and missing her father like she never thought she would. She didn't eat, she wouldn't talk, she couldn't sleep, and soon became dehydrated and fragile. Adia tried to talk to Naanda but she would turn her head away and wouldn't reply. Rafiki checked her over and said that nothing was wrong, she probably just missed Scar, which was true but Naanda didn't say anything.
Finally, Naanda saw Nala lie down next to her. "You need to eat, Naanda." She told her daughter, who looked away. Adia lay on the other side. "You really do, you'll die if you don't eat or drink." She explained. Naanda looked straight ahead. Aniweta lay in front of her. "You need to eat or suckle Nala, Rafiki said so." He told Naanda, who got up and turned around, so she was facing none of them. Simba sat in front of her. "Naanda, let's talk about this." He said to her. Naanda growled as she turned back to Adia. "Naanda, you know Scar will never leave you, he is up in the sky every night, he looks like a star, and he's still with you in the day. He lives in your heart." Adia told Naanda, who closed her eyes so she didn't look at any of them. For the first time in ages, Naanda fell asleep. She saw Scar, who was walking towards her. "Naanda, please, save yourself, eat something, drink something, suckle your mother if you must, but please, do not kill yourself. I will always be with you, even if you can't see me. I'm here." Scar told her, then began to fade away. "Dad! Please! Don't leave me! I need you! Dad!" Naanda called after him, tears in her eyes. Scar's last words were still echoing in Naanda's mind when she woke up. There was a piece of meat in front of her. The smell pricked Naanda's nose, and her stomach rumbled loudly. Naanda noticed for the first time how famished she was. Pulling the meat towards her, Naanda began to chew on it. The sweet taste of zebra on her tounge made Naanda long for more. She pulled of a piece and began to chew. She swallowed, and tore another piece off. Chew. Swallow. Tear. Chew. Swallow. Tear. Naanda found she soon finished the piece of meat she had been given. Adia came into the den. "Oh, thank goodness!" Adia exclaimed. "Nala, come look!" Nala ran into the den and saw no piece of meat. She sniffed Naanda then hugged her close. "Mom..." Naanda muttered. "Oh Naanda, you ate it!" Nala cried, tears falling down her cheeks in delight. Naanda breathed in the smell of her mother, bringing tears to her eyes. She slowly built her strength again. Everything was going to be alright.
As Naanda grew into an adult, she gained the playfulness she never had as a cub, but didn't really act childish. She was matue, hunted with the others, was loyal to the new king and respected every rule. Naanda knew she needed to look for a mate, but there was plenty of time, her life wasn't over just yet. But often at night, before she went to bed, she sat to watch the stars, her eyes darting all over the sky until she found it, the dullest, least lighted star out of all the stars. Naanda knew then she had found her father. And she would talk to him, telling him all that had happened, what her feelings were, and her secrets. And the people who knew didn't question her. They knew she wanted to know her father was with her. And every night, just before Naanda went into the cave she always said the same thing. "Everything's alright, father, I'm alright. I promise I'll make you proud." And the weakest star always seemed to twinkle in reply.
