Personality: Jealous of Uru. Believes that she has more potential than her older sister and was skipped over for the role as leader because of her age. As a result Nakato developed a hidden resentment for her sister, even though she continually supports Uru among the bad and good. Because of this, Nakato developed an inferiority complex - believing that her sister was better than her at everything, and Nakato was just a pretty face.

History: Nakato and Uru were twins born in Mohatu and Thema's litter. Nakato was born a few minutes after Uru, but the role of leader was already passed to Uru because she was born first. Mohatu spent a lot of time with Uru, teaching her all he knew while Nakato was babied and looked after by Thema. Though the two sisters always had a very good bond, it wasn't until their adolescence that Nakato began to become increasingly jealous of Uru.

She tried everything to overshadow her sister, but Mohatu only had eyes for Uru. This did not discourage Nakato though - she continued to try and seek out her father's attention and approval. There was one incident that left Mohatu in bad flavor for Nakato. Her relationship with her father suffered, but Nakato always had Thema to talk to. Her mother always encouraged her by saying how special she was. As a result, Nakato was absolutely devastated when Thema died of an infection.

Nakato inwardly resented Uru, but on the outside had a very good relationship with her sister. Her relationship with her father, however, did not improve no matter how much Mohatu tried to appeal to her. Nakato respected her father, but the love she felt for him faded after that past incident. Despite this, Nakato was visibly devasted when her father passed away from old age.

With Uru now leading the pride, they landmarked into the Pridelands and bumped into the much younger Ahadi who was a rogue. Uru was initially cruel and aloof to Ahadi, but Nakato liked him and thought he was very funny. She nursed a baby affection for him, but as it turns out he always had his eyes on Uru, and so once they announced they were in love, Nakato was distraught.

The  cubs Mufasa and Taka were born, and Nakato saw the cycle repeat itself. Mufasa was constantly in Ahadi's care while Uru coddled baby Taka. Because she had been in the same position as him, Nakato formed a very loving relationship with Taka, which strained after Uru's untimely death. Nakato also found an abandoned cub in the Pridelands whom she adopted and named Laguna. Jealous that Uru had cubs, Nakato played it off that Laguna was her son, and everyone believed her because of how similar the two looked. Ahadi died soon after, and soon Nakato was the last lioness left from Mohatu's original pride. Her passing had a tremendous effect on Taka who later became Scar. Nakato started the catalyst that made Scar seek to murdering Mufasa.
