Personality: Shemsa is usually very reserved coming off as cold and aloof to those who don't know her. She tends to hide behind politeness and curtesy so getting to know her can be fairly difficult. However, she is fiercely loyal to her family and can be quite kind. She takes duty to the pride very very seriously and tries her best to instill this in Munira with little success.

History: Shemsa was born and raised in the Mzuka Pride all her life and from a young age knew that one day her pride would be taken over by new males and it was her duty to accept this and bare these new males cubs. It was her role in life and she should accept it. She wasn't to question this. She was also not allowed to stray far from her home because her pride should come before her own wants.

And so Shemsa accepted this as she thought she should.

Then, just as she had been told, her pride was taken over by two new males named Tojo and Chumvi and Shemsa served them as she had always been told to. The two had strange notions of how a pride should run, like the old male they had ousted being their 'king' rather than just their leader and that the cubs of the pride should be spared rather than killed to make way for their cubs. Some lionesses, Shemsa included, have them weird looks and viewed them with mild bemusement but new males were new males and they would submit no matter how strange they were.

One of the new males, Tojo, took an interest in her fairly quickly. Shemsa knew that she had to submit to him but confusingly for her this didn't seem to please him. Instead he began asking her questions about what SHE wanted. This seemed very odd to her, wasn't she meant to serve her new kings and do what they wanted. Wasn't that the role of a pride lioness? When she said this to Tojo himself he seemed almost disturbed by her mindset. 

Over time, Tojo began spending more time with her, not trying to mate with her as she expected he would but instead trying to woo her instead. Shemsa saw his actions as very strange...but she did like it. With some gentle provoking, she began to open up more and more to him and found that she quite liked Tojo and his strange ways. She might even be able to love him one day. 

Eventually, Tojo did take her as his mate (he would have none of the other lionesses, only her) and from their union, a little female cub was born who Shemsa named Munira. Tojo seemed very awed with his new daughter, he had admitted that he had mated before but never knew any of his cubs, and wanted to have a hand in raising her. By now, Shemsa was used to his strange requests and allowed him to take Munira and teach her, some of the pride lionesses thought she was mad but she didn't care for their opinions.
