Personality: Talon is very much like Kiara, with an adventerous spirit and a stubborn attitude. He also had a couple of traits from Scar, but they're from Scar's cubhood, so he doesn't like fighting that much. He loves his friends and looks up to and respects Kovu for looking after him.

Likes: Kovu, the pridelands, sunny days, hyenas (sort of)

History: Scar never died. After Zira had visited him he blacked out, and awoke a few minutes later. Scar then left, leaving the pridelanders thinking that the hyenas had eaten his body.

Scar settled down in a nice place kind of far from the pridelands. He caught and ate food from the nearby pride often, without them knowing. His regular food made him grow stronger with a better build, and his mane changed, too. Scar went on, hoping to one day find a suitable mate, his interests in ruling the pridelands slowly fading away.

One day Scar wandered too far from his cave and met Kiara. He started talking to her, although he changed his name to Tom, and was disappointed to find that she already had a mate. But Kiara kept coming back to see him again. Scar soon found out that he was falling for the lioness, as she was with him. During one of their meetings the two mated, and Kiara confessed her love for Scar. But one day she came back, and told him to run away, and soon explained that she was expecting his cub. In shock, Scar left but promised to return one day.

After three months Kiara gave birth, and everyone was immediately suspicous. Kovu knew that the cub was not his, although he said nothing, and the rest of the pride noticed how much the cub looked like Scar, and they just hoped that it was genetics. Kiara did her best to ignore what the pride was saying, and hoped that they wouldn't find out who the father was. Kiara named her son Talon, meaning Claw.

As Talon grew, he began to show everyone that he was nothing like Scar. He also looked up to and respected Kovu for looking after him like a father. He didn't know who his father was, but he knew it wasn't Kovu. Everyone in the pride grew to love Talon, he was such a mad, crazy, laughable cub that it was impossible to hate him. He loved his friends and always did his best to make them laugh, and his friends were mainly his half siblings. Talon would happily sit and learn about the great kings of the past from Adia, although he shuddered when he heard about Scar. He understood after that why some of the pride avoided him, and hoped that he would never turn out like that.

One day when Talon was out on a stroll he met a hyena pup. At first he didn't say anything, but he soon learnt that this hyena was nothing like the others. Her name was Aliza, and she hated what her pack sometimes did, so she often avoided them. The two soon became friends, although Talon knew that the pride would avoid him even more if they discovered that he was friends with a hyena, so he kept their friendship a secret.

However, one day Talon discovered Aliza lying injured and bleeding in the savannah. Panic swept over him and he had to sneak some herbs out of Adia's den. He took her to an abandoned cave he knew about and cared for her there. When she was well again, Aliza told him what happened. She had been out with the pack on a hunt, not by choice, and accidentally set off a stampede. In anger, the other hyenas attacked her and left her there for dead. Talon suddenly knew that if he would have been much longer, she would have died, and vowed to keep her safe. He did this by keeping her in the cave and bringing food to her every day.

But one day when he was with Aliza a rouge wandered into the den. He took Aliza up into his jaws and growled at Talon, telling him he was on orders to kill her, and if he didn't leave then he would be next. Aliza begged him to go so Talon fled, but he was going to get help.

Talon bumped into Kovu on the way and told him hurridely that it was an emergancy, no time to explain. Kovu, although curious, followed him, but they got there too late. By the time the rouge was in sight he was already just finishing Aliza off. Kovu bounded towards the rouge while Talon bent over his ripped friend. Kovu soon chased the rouge off but they were too late - he had already ripped Aliza to pieces, torn her apart limb from limb. Kovu tried to comfort Talon but it didn't work - he just wept over his fallen friend. He had failed her. He had promised to protect her and keep her safe but he failed. This might have not happened if he had taken her straight to pride rock. This was his fault.

Talon kept himself seperate from the pride after that day. He just went to Aliza's grave, since Kovu was kind enough to bury her and give her a small funeral, and wept. Sometimes he would pretend she could hear him, and spoke to her. Soon it became a habit and he would tell her about his day, and when things went wrong. He spent time with his other friends again but he would always visit her some time in the day. Kovu and Kiara grew worried for their son, talking to a dead hyena, but didn't stop him. Simba was even more suspicious and worried about what Talon might have heard from his friendship with the hyena. But Talon didn't show any hate towards lions, although he began to dislike rouges and some hyenas for trying to kill his friend.

One day when Talon was by Aliza's grave Kiara came up to him and told him he had a visitor. Surprised, he said goodbye to Aliza and followed her, only to find Scar anxiously looking around the cave. "Talon, this is your father, Tom." Kiara smiled. The pride began muttering about how 'Tom' looked like Scar, and that Kiara had cheated on Kovu, who wasn't pleased to see this lion, but Scar came to her defence. He lied, saying that a lion had told them to mate or he would kill them both and for some reason everyone believed it. Everyone but Talon, who didn't say anything. Scar was welcomed temporarily into the pride, and showed no signs of wanting to take over. Talon grew close to his father, and talked for hours with him, although he still visited his dead friend. He once even took Scar with him, and Scar told him about how he had once been friends with hyenas but they betrayed him. Talon made up his mind to only befriend hyenas if he knew they were safe.

Unfortunately, all good things had to come to an end. Shortly after Talon became a teenager, Scar said he had to leave. The day before he was going to leave, Simba was brutally murdered by a mysterious lion. There was proof that it wasn't Scar, for Simba had been out with Zazu and Scar was talking to Kiara, in full sight of everyone. And then, of course, Scar left the next day. A few months later there was a war with another pride, and Kovu, who had been assigned a protecter, went out. Kovu's protecter came back later after the war saying that he and Kovu were attacked, and he was knocked out. When he woke up Kovu was dead. Everyone soon found out that Sally, the daughter of Scar and Zira, was a traitor, and was responsible for Kovu's death. Talon had cried for days along with Kiara after Kovu's death, for even though Kovu was not his true father, he had raised Talon as if he was. Under all the pressure Kopa took the throne onto his shoulders with Vitani as his mate. Talon wasn't fond of all these changes so icolated himself to Aliza's grave, telling her about how he felt and how stressful things were, as well as updates.

Eventually all of the stress died down and life slipped back to normal. But Talon was still... restless without Kovu. Kovu had raised him and Talon loved him, like they really were father and son. And Talon still missed Aliza, and couldn't help but feel like everything would be OK if she was around.

At last Talon was an adult. He helped the lionesses hunt and sometimes fought in the occasional war, but it was all boring. He remembered back to when he last saw Scar, and remembered something about a pride called the River Pride (Ni's pride). He decided to go and find his father, and so set off in search of that pride.

It took him four weeks to find the River Pride, but he eventually did, and discovered Scar's cave. He bounded in and greeted his father with a loving nuzzle. He stayed with Scar for a week, telling him all about what had happened, including Kovu's death and Sally's betreyal. Finally he left.

But Talon couldn't find his way home. He wandered around for weeks searching for Pride Rock but there was no sign of it. He was completely lost. He spent his days catching prey and asking lions for directions while looking for his home without luck.

Eventually a travelling pride stopped by. Talon spotted a young female and asked her hopefully for the way to pride rock. The lioness took him to her pride and they agreed to help him out so long as he helped them on the way. Talon agreed, and became a temporary member to the pride until they reached the pridelands. Talon thanked them but before they left Vitani came with news for him. It had taken Talon two and a half months to get back home, and they had previously found out that Scar had died of old age three weeks ago. The lioness who had taken Talon to her pride comforted him and said she hoped he would feel better soon. Then she left.

Talon went back to Aliza's grave and told her about what had happened on his journey and why he was so late back. He knew that she would understand.

That very night back Talon decided to sleep outside and he looked up at the stars. There were millions, one of them the weakest of them all, which was Scar, although Talon didn't know it. He knew that Scar would have wanted to see him get a mate. And he spoke to Aliza too, because he knew she was up there. He told her about how much he missed her and that if only she was here things might not have been so bad. And he also thought about that lioness who helped him right before he fell asleep. He knew they would see each other again some day. The last thing he said that night was, "And if she may one day carry my cubs, I shall name my first girl after you, Aliza."
