Tanglemane is a male lion found in the comic book, "In Deep Water."

He has a golden pelt, mahogany mane and a multi-colored muzzle. He also has 4 slashes across his frontal left leg.

Tanglemane is an old lion who lives alone in the cave above the lake. It is revealed he once ruled a pride, but two rogue males challenged him for supremacy. Tanglemane was once a very strong lion but due to an old ake he was weakened and lost the fight.

Tanglemane is said to be a wise, but short tempered. Simba, Timon and Pumbaa meet Tanglemane when they are searching for water source. He attemts to scare them off but he slips and smacks his mouth into the rocks, knocking out a tooth. It reveals that the aching tooth was the reason of his bad temper and after the change, the old lion agrees to help and leads them to an underground water source beneath his lair.
