Name: Umbuji

Likes: learning things from his relatives, playing with Shayiri, his mate and cub.

Dislikes: having strange dreams, lions that waste his time, being hold back.

personality: at first, Umbuji may seem as a quiet and reserved lion, but once you get to know him he’s very playfull and caring. He’s often very hasty and impatient and will rush trough things without really thinking about it. He will try to hide his traits from strangers as he thinks they might be used against him, but as he gets older he learns to trust others more easily.

Appearance:  brownish tan with cream belly, muzzle and toes, kovu-like earrims, that fade away when he grows up and he has a purple nose. His eyes are bright blue and his mane is dark brown. His coat is a little longer than those of average lions.  

History: Umbuji was born far away from priderock. His parents and older sister where very happy with his birth. As a cub he had some trouble trusting the other cubs in the pride so he’d rather just stick around his sister. Shayiri didn’t mind him and the two siblings quickly became best friends. Shayiri would often teach him about the savannah and Umbuji would listen very well. When he was a teen, Umbuji’s father grew too old to lead the pride decently and so he left with his mate, out of fear for young rogues to take over the pride. Shayiri was crushed and Umbuji tried to comfort her the best he could, but he had some stuff of his own to deal with. He had been having strange dreams and visions of a huge and majestic rock in the middle of a strange land. Umbuji watched as his sister fruitlessly tried to take over their father’s pride as the others thought she was too young. Not much later a rogue lion became the new leader and Umbuji knew he had to go. When he bid farewell to his sister he confessed he had been having strange dreams and explained het thought about finding the rock. Immediately, Shayiri offered to go with him, as she didn’t really liked her pride anymore. Umbuji accepted her offer and they went on their way. The found a place where no other lions lived, and in the middle of it there was a huge rock, upon coming closer, Umbuji recognized it as the rock of his dreams. Umbuji named their new home Priderock. When he was an adult some lionesses came and they were welcomed in the small pride. over some time, Umbuji fell in love with the most beautiful of them all, Taba. They became mates and had one single cub, which they named Mohatu.
