People seem to go on and on and on about Mheetu Nala's brother but is he actuly real.

He was suppose to be in the move at very early stage of development, but was removed due to not having any other role in movie other than being Nalas brother. In early version, Simba was suppose to save him from stampede, in that gorge. But that was very early concept and it changed to what we can see in movie. Also his name sounds like "Me too.", which was only line he had. However, there was nowhere to fit him in by the time they made final story(Similar as Kopa in TLK2), so they removed him from movie.
There are some official Disney sketches of him around, which are not even colored. Links:
