Personality: He is slightly quiet and reserved. He is protective, quick-thinking, smart, determined, and strong-willed. Is also nice and gentlemanly, and can be funny sometimes. He is wary of people and always avoids them. Can be social at times. 

History: He hatched in the back room of an automotive shop in Rio de Janeiro, amid horrible conditions: moldy water, no food, and cages in desperate need of cleaning. His parents were a breeding pair of Scarlet macaws; the other birds were being used for breeding as well. He was one of two out of three siblings to survive. Andréas and his brother were put in separate cages. Andréas lived like this for about 4 1/2 years, stuck in a disgusting cage with nothing to do but endure. He was kept relatively healthy so he could breed. Soon one of the female Scarlets was put into his cage in the hopes that the two would breed, but they didn't; Andréas didn't want any chicks until after he found the one. The female was removed a few hours later. A couple days later, the shop owner brought in a Blue-and-gold macaw, shoved her in a cage, then left. The new bird looked around the room, and was shocked and appalled at the conditions. She stopped when she laid eyes on Andréas, who turned to look at her. The Blue-and-gold introduced herself as Verity, and Andréas introduced himself as well, a few minutes later; he thought Verity was beautiful as was her name. So their friendship began. About two months later, police and animal services members removed them and the other birds from the shop, after two officers heard a squawk while purchasing new wiper blades for their car. A couple weeks later, Andréas and Verity were put up for adoption, along with a few of the other birds from the shop. The two escaped from their cages, and from the building in which the adoption was being held. Their friendship continued in the following months, and the two grew closer and closer. Andréas was starting to have feelings for Verity. Soon they could take their feelings for each other no longer. They confessed them to each other as the sun was setting, and became mates soon after. The two love each other more than anything. Verity had been his only friend in his life, now she was his life, his reason for living. He'd finally found the one.
