Personality: She is confident and self-composed, as well as soft-hearted. She is sometimes stern but reasonable. Is slightly smarmy and ingratiating. She is coquettish and flirty. She is also prim, graceful, and clear-headed. She's not afraid to speak her mind, and is discreet at the same time. She's easy-going, open-hearted, observant, faithul, and open-minded. Sometimes she gets sad and depressed.

History: She and her two siblings hatched in the forest outside Rio de Janeiro, and she was the first to hatch, so she's the oldest. Her brother (later to be named Blu) was last to hatch. He seemed a little different than his siblings, and got more attention then them. She got scolded for everything since her younger brother got the most attention, so Taís grew to hate him. When they started learning how to fly, her brother kept falling asleep, and this added to her dislike of him. When the time came, Taís and her sister Betriz left the hollow, leaving their brother behind. Their parents watched over their son for a few more days. One day they left to find some food for their son, but found him gone when they returned; he'd fallen out of the nest and been captured by animal smugglers. When Taís was told her brother was gone, she couldn't have cared less.

As she grew up, she saw her parents less and less, and she and Betriz parted ways.

When Taís was 10, she met and fell in love with another Spix's macaw whose previous mate had been captured for the bird trade. Six months later, Taís found herself expecting three chicks, but not for long. A few days later, in the evening, Taís and her mate heard voices outside the tree, and minutes later, one of the men climbed up, looking for Spix's macaws to sell on the bird trade. They reached into the hollow and felt around, smashing Taís's eggs in the process. Taís backed away. The man found Taís's mate, grabbed him, and climbed back down. The man climbed back up a couple minutes later and tried to grab Taís, but she kept biting his hand, so the person gave up and climbed back down.

Taís was upset and devasted at the loss of her mate and future young, all right in front of her. In the following weeks, she kept to herself. Every Spix's macaw she saw reminded her of that night. She couldn't stand the sight of her own species, and can't anymore.

Late one day, she was feeling sad, thinking of that night, when a toucan landed on the branch next to hers and asked what was wrong, so Taís told him. A few minutes later they introduced themselves, and Zezé (the toucan) flew off.

They met again the next day. A few days later, she and Zezé went out and flew together. Taís found herself starting to like the toucan, and over the next few months they grew closer and closer in their friendship.

Another few months later, she and Zezé danced together while watching a Carnaval parade. After it was over, they were talking about how much fun they had and how lovely the performers were, when Zezé confessed his feelings for her, but stopped talking for fear of being rejected. Taís confessed her feelings for him, catching him off guard. Relieved, Zezé asked if she would do him the honor of being his mate, and she said yes.

She and Zezé have been together for a year now, and their love shows no signs of fading; they love each other more than anything.
