The birds from Rio turn Angry in the special Angry Birds: Rio edition. This was a standalone release of Angry Birds and NOT part of the Angry Birds “Seasons” edition. It was released on iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch), Android and Mac OS X in March 2011.

The game started with two different chapters, each with 30 levels. A third chapter (called “Beach Volley”, also with 30 levels) was released in May 2011, which will be allowed by a release in July, October and November.

Since it’s release, Angry Birds Rio has been downloaded over 120 million times and is one of the most successful standalone games currently on the iOS and Mac OS X App Stores, as well as on Android. The paid version of the iOS version has received five-stars, while the free version has received 4 stars.
