Breed: Appaloosa (unconfirmed claims speculate Walkaloosa also)

Personality: A bit of a clown and self-considered Ladies man, he can liven up any moment with some amusing pun or action. Markus was very carefree before he ran away with Atlas, and eventually his serious side started poking out a bit more. Despite that, he always looks on the positive and optimistic side of things and only admits defeat in very negative situations, where he'll then reveal a surprisingly clever planner. He sometimes daydreams, and he can also be great at sarcasm. But mostly lots of horses that don't really know him find him very annoying.

Likes: Doing things his own way, Messing around, (used to like poking fun at Atlas, but now it has become much more subtle teasing).

Dislikes: Bossy Horses, really bad jokes, the ranch horses idea of 'jokes', moody atmospheres.

Fears: Fears the sound of Gunfire quite a bit.

Bio

Being brought up on a ranch, he was used to lounging around in the pastures doing nothing. He used to poke fun a lot at 'Patches' (ie: Atlas) for having a different heritage to him, eventually stopping this when he realised he was becoming more like the other snobby ranch horses with their kind of humor when he made a comment about Atlas' family.

One day, as the ranch went on a group walk, he saw Atlas gallop off into the forest near the ranch. Secretly knowing the most likely reason, he ran after him into the forest. He caught up with him at a river, and they talked for a few minutes. The result was Atlas letting Markus tag along to wherever they were going, and they grew to become friends. Markus wouldn't admit it, but he almost thought of Atlas as an older brother since he got to know him. Atlas realised that Markus wasn't as much of a bully as he first thought, and Markus in turn realised Atlas wasn't as grumpy or grouchy as he first thought.

Then, they stumbled upon Abracadabras herd, after a Coyote attack saw them getting defended by his family. At first, Markus was slightly nervous being around these horses, but decided to relax around them. At one point, they were even visited by a white Hart (male red deer) who mentioned some 'wacky oracle stuff'.After a while, they eventually set off again.

At last, the two of them arrived at the Lakota village. Atlas was very reluctant to come into two legged territory, but Markus managed to coax him in with some encouragement. After they met Shadi, Denise and Little Creek, Markus felt a bit left out by the Lakota horses. This made him think about all the times he'd picked on Atlas, and how they'd pushed him aside as a mistake. The Lakota horses treated him a little bit like that, using patronising comments and voices that made out they thought he wasn't tough enough for Lakota life. But with some help from Flame and a great comedy act, the horses finally accepted him for what he was. Markus wished that the same could've been said for Atlas, and sticks up for him if an arguement arises (luckily, Markus can usually stop the arguement after thirty seconds of talking his hind off without pausing for breath).

Related to Spirit: Lives in the Lakota village currently and has met Little Creek.
