History:

Lights flooded his eyes as he opened them.  "Koda" a voice spoke.  He turned his head and saw a large stallion.  He looked up then looked at his mother.  She lay there looking at him and Koda.  "Good bye my love I must go back to the village"

That was the last he saw of his father.  His father died six mounths later in a Lakota battle. His mother herd of this and fell into a deep depression.  She never ate and died.  He cried and left.  He found a small camp of men.  He looked at them.  He snorted and one woke up.  He woke the others up.  They jumped on their horses and started chasing him down. He bolted around a cornner and up a ridge.  One man was already on the ridge.  A rope caought his neck and pulled.  He reared at the man and another was around his neck.  He was lead too a big place.  He saw the horses ahead of him "Is that was is going to happen to me?" He thought as he saw the others move in one movement.  He was lead to a strange wooden thing.  A short man came out with cutters and cut his mane.  All his lovely mane was taken off.  His hooves where cleaned.  He came back out with a white hot iron.  THe ropes where slack and weak.  Koda bolted and out the open doors.  He galloped for miles that day.  He found a small lake and lush meadow.  He lay down and rested.  When he woke he drank and went into a large cave.  Nothing was there. He slept more.  A cold breeze woke him.  He remembered that it was almost winter.  He went out and got leaves in his cave and pilled them up.  He also ripped up old dried grass and pilled it in there.  He got some tree branches and put them in a shape then put all the leaves and grass in.  He smiled and lay down.  He needed more leaves because he sank down.  He also got some sand from the lake  and put in there then put the leaves and grass in.  He sand down.  It was perfect.  He smiled.  He also made sure he kept a hole open for water when the lake froze.  He closed his eyes.  Koda drifted into a deep sleep.  He woke up to a growled of a mountan lion.  He got up and looked around.  He saw her with her two cubs.  Koda lunged at her and she ran off.  He clacked his teeth and drove her away.  

When sprin came Koda walked out.  He was now a yearling and ready to move to a different place.  He smiled and walked off.
