History: Altair was abandoned by his parents when he was very young. A nice, young mare took him in when she found him. She raised him until he was old enough to travel on his own. Once he left her behind, she died from a cougar attack, and he was devastated. She was like a mother to him, since he didn't know his real parents. He felt lonelier than he ever had before. Once he felt somewhat better, he left his 'mother's' side and began to make his way across the plains. Altair never stopped going, until he finally collapsed on a hill. A few hours later, he woke up to find a whole herd surrounding him. Altair was confused, but then he met Spirit and his mate, Rain. They let him stay for a while longer until he was back to health. Altair didn't feel comfortable with that herd, so he decided to keep on going.
