He was bred in the United Kingdom in one of the best facilities that managed breeding Thoroughbreds. Horses bred in that facility were known for their speed, stamina, effectivenes and obedience. Therefore he was chosen as one of the few horses that were suppossed to be sent overseas to serve in the Wild West for members of the British colonies. Due to his parents being one of the best breeding pairs in the facility, he was named Challenger.
He was being raised for two years, attending different obedience and race trainings. Other trianings included declining his feat tolerance, expanding his stamina level through continuous running and jumping trough objects of any size and width. All those training sessions were to get him used to his future work in the Wild West. So when the time of his departure came, he was in excellent shape and condition to start his new chapter of his life.
Challenger was sent to West cavalry base and from there it wasn't long when during his duty, a mustang was brought to the base. He was wild and untamed, that was something that even Challenger noticed. The mysterious Mustang sparked his curiosity, mostly about how the world was outside there. Chall thought that the cavalry soldiers would quickly break the wild Stallion down, but boy, oh how wrong he was. Even The Colonel never managed to break the wild horse, even after trying to starve him for three days. So when Colonel got threw from Spirit's saddle, and was about to get killed. The Lakota member broke free and saved the said horse in last minute.
After Spirit's and Little Creek's successful escape, Challenger officialy became Colonel's new horse, proving his strength and brave nature. From this day onwards, Colonel planned on attacking the tribe's homeland and take his ultimate revenge from last humiliation. When the day came of attacking the tribe, Challanger was surprised to see the same Mustang that was brought to the base, thinking that the said horse would to the place he originally came from. When Colonel forced Challenger to go after them, he was not happy seeing as his rider nearly killed Little Creek if it wasn't for Spirit ramming into Challenger, successfuly throwing the angry Colonel from his saddle. Chall also watched as the brave Mustang jumped into the water to save the mare that previously charged with Little Creek at them, untilt he missed missle from Colonel's revolver forced them to fall into water. The cavalry retreated shortly after, demolishing whole tribe and leaving some victims behind.
The next time, when Challenger met Spirit, was when Colonel found him with Little Creek at the bank of the river, after the train got destroyed, pushing the last buttons of Clonel's nerves. He swore that he was going to kill them this time. So when another chase started, Chall was amazed how much of a challenges the Mustang himself faced and from each one of them he came out victorious. That was then, when Spirit jumped trough a cliff, that seemed impossible to cross, that Challenger really started to admire the Wild Mustang. That was also then, when Colonel aknowledged both him and Lakota's indian, sparing them free once for all. As Chall saw both the horse and the human cheering in victory for their freedoom, he himself wished that he could be put in same situation to taste life from different point of view.
After retreating back to the base, he still devoted himself to the army, because it was the only enviroment he knew, the only enivroment he grew up. But he prayed that one day, he will be able to meet the mysterious Mustang once again and to experience life filled with wonders that he never experienced before.
