History:

Criss was born in the cavalry of The Colonel with one twin brother. His mother was the cousin to Granite(who was just 1 year old at that time) thus he was his uncle. Granite named him ‘Criss’ because he thought he would be very strong and rapid.

Granite thought the right thing because Criss was then appeared to be a courageous foal. He ran very fast during the trainings and often dared to sneak to other places and he even didn’t hesitate to fight the adult horses. However, The Colonel and his men tried to keep him in control so that he would become a good horse.

Things were going well, until the foal saw a wild horse caught trapped by the men. That horse told him that they used to run wild all day.Hearing this, the little foal tried to escape many times. And after a month, he was able. When some men were going to work with their horses, Criss hid behind them and when they got out, Criss started to run rapidly and no one was able to catch him. After two days, running without much rest he arrived at the wild. He met a mare who had a foal behind her. He found out her name was ‘Esperanza’ and her foal’s name was ‘Spirit’.

After telling them about his story, Esperanza let him stay in The Cimarron Herd. 

He grew up playing with Spirit and other foals. He always followed what Spirit did.

When Spirit was caught by the men, Criss knew who caught him, so he went the same day to save his dear friend and he too was caught. There, he met Granite again and found out that his mother has died and his brother is only left.

However, when Spirit and Little Creek set all the horses free, he escaped by chance but Spirit was caught again. Criss knew many tricks so he lived with the red Indians hiding.

On day, when he was sneaking through again, he got in front of a mare similar to Rain whom Spirit has fallen for. He asked Spirit to ask Rain who she was and found out it was her sister. Criss then tried to go and talk with her. At first, the mare was feeling shy but finally she told her name, ‘May’. Criss and May then tried to talk to each other every day and they got very close to each other.
When Spirit was finally set free with Rain, Criss asked May to come with him. May accepted and the four traveled together. They reached their herd.
Rain got together with Spirit, so as May with Criss. They lived happily with all the others.
